With the Philippines’ presidential elections just 2 weeks away, it’s more than obvious Pacquaio is going to lose, and badly for that matter, garnering just 2-4% votes on recent surveys — which is definitely a good thing for the Filipino people as many didn’t want him to enter politics to begin with.
A boxing comeback or farewell fight might be in the horizon. He is still very good at his age but obviously no longer elite. Who do we have for him? The levels of Brook or Khan? Guerrero?
This was big money down the drain for Pacquiao. Can’t believe he really was arrogant enough to think he would be elected after evading over 70M in taxes. After Duterte mentioned him being a tax evader in front of thousands he should’ve pulled out.
I’d like to see him do a farewell fight in the Philippines where I can go. Also I want him to get a win his final go and give a proper farewell.
Coz he didn’t even formally announce his retirement last time, he just got cornered in an interview, and he answered “yeah im out”
that's because he's not done yet... he had to take a break because he's running for president. so he uses the excuse that he's retired... pac vs spence will happen later this year after the presidential election in the PI.
Pinas will never learn, they about to elect a convicted felon son of an dictator (who it turns out even at 20 years old was in active politics when his father was in power) so the notion that you can't blame him for his fathers sin's doesn't count since he got elected into office because of his fathers influence and name.
Meanwhile Pac actually helped people and was not part of the political elite and people in pinas wonder why they stay steady poor, walang etak talaga, basta ma dala sa pangalan.
i worked with a lot of filipinos and i've talked to older filipino guys about this... a lot of them is a fan of manny as a boxer BUT they feel that manny is not capable of running a whole country... it's a different ball game than boxing. they want people with actual experience and background and not some boxer who became famous and now wants to run for president. plus a lot of them say jinkee has a big ego and if manny was to win, jinkee would ruin everything. the filipinos has spoken, they love manny as a boxer but not as their president.

Oh sheeit, we’re now a PI political forum now. Eye roll.
Al Haymon will give Pacquiao a fairwell fight in the Philippines, probably against amir khan
If khan didn’t just got battered by Brook this definitely would have been a good one. Not so risky fight that could end in a KO type of farewell.
Sad news, would have been cool to see him become President. As much as I enjoyed watching Pac-Man fight, I hope he stays retired. He's done it all and a comeback would be ultra risky. People say he should fight a lower-tier guy but they forget that Pacquiao was never that dude. He had filler matches but it was always with the intent of fighting a top level dude next. Pac-Man, if he were to come back, would clearly not be trying to go on a 2-3 fight run. I don't see it. Meaning, he'll probably try to fight another top-10 welterweight. That's gonna be tough. I hope he stays retired.

- - His Congressional District obviously wants him representing them for over 12 years now.
U was always lite, not elite and probably more petite than Manny, hence U inferiority complex.
that’s just real talk. Whats with all this inferiority complex BS. Apparently you guys can’t discuss a topic without ad hominem — that I think is a much worse trait.
I’m one of his biggest fans and I didn’t want him to be in politics. He doesn’t need politics. People voted for him because they love him not because of his capacity for the position.
and now he’s running for president which is just a tad too far and can longer be compensated by adoration.

Pacquiao vs Khan would still be a MASSIVE fight in Asia.
I’d like to see Pac stay retired though. ATG career, he has nothing left to prove.
nah.. i dont see it like that anymore... maybe 4-5 years ago.. khan has really gone down hill.

PAC needs to recover his massive expenses for this presidential candidacy... :D
yeah i heard he spent over 50 million he was giving money away to try and buy votes

Why do people want to see a fighter fight, whose not in his prime no more? I don’t get it.
pac might want to do a proper farewell fight, one which he will surely win as well. It doesn’t have to be against the top guns.
a farewell fight with a journeyman in the philippines would be good enough for me. His retirement was just rushed because of the election schedule. He didn’t even announce it himself just answered it because it was brought out in an interview.. him coming back for a farewell fight is a real possibility.
I'm sure a Brook-Pac fight could make tons of $$ in the UK so that would make sense. I don't want to see him compete with the younger guys anymore, he's done at that level.
Pac vs Brook would mean Khan taking 2 L's in a row.
Maybe put Khan vs Hatton on the undercard.
He can maybe negate his older body by not giving that much of an advantage and fight at super-light weight? The money is probably not as good as welterweight and above though.
He can still be in politics. It's better for everyone if he does not take any more punches.
