Seriously 350M people and every high school has 30-40 17-18 yr olds kids in the football team built like brick sh1thouses. And you can't fight find 1 HW to beat this fat gypsy garbage Fury??
Frazier, Liston, Ali, Foreman, Tyson, Holmes would have raped Fury you must be able to get 1 dude in shape to beat his fat ass. They can make hundreds of millions as well doing it.
Ever since the US stopped producing HW's the division has been total garbage and this trash like Fury/Whyte is now what we're left with.
"They're all in basketball/football doe"
just like there'd be a ton more euro guys like mayweather had they not went into soccer right?
Lol exactly. They never consider the flip side. HW is automatically trash because of a lack of Americans then Heavyweights eras of the past were trash because of lack of genuine international competition.
I'm no expert on Basketball but i'm guessing like most sports the vast majority of players have been playing since a vey young age. Before they knew how big they would grow. They didn't just decide i'm big, i want to play basketball. :lol1:
How come all these talented basketball players grow so big though? What if Lebron or Jordan had stopped growing at 5 10 they could have the same talent but wouldn't be the same player.
It's amazing how the most talented players also seem to have the genetic propensity to grow very tall.

Heard of Joel Embiid?
You lot are weirdos when it comes to this topic.
I'm not making excuse for the poor quality of heavyweights, which is what I think you lot are believing.
On the contrary. I'm just pointing out the reality that, why would a person choose to get punched in the face if they can do something else and make as much money doing it?
But now, please do keep talking about how you have to be good at something, when in reality, you just have to have a strong interest and desire to do it, then know people who know people.
The current generation just isn't interested in boxing, I mean it's hard finding kids that even want to play baseball anymore, and that used to be America's past time, football and basketball are the money makers, and it's what kids are interested in
exactly. Football and Basketball have taken many kids. Plus with the new NIL deals these kids are going to be even harder to pull.

Guys as small as Mayweather have options in Europe.
Majority play football.
Someone like Robert Lewandowski who has a taekwondo black belt could be fighting in combat sports.
But he has options.
Why do that, when they can kick a football instead of get their head smashed in?
Lomachenko was groomed from a young age to box.
So, he boxes. But without that. Dude would be kicking a ball around like Shevchenko instead.
I love how Americans think people can just choose a sport, like you don't have to be good at it. :lol1:
Well, you also have to consider the options.
How many guys like Fury have the option to do anything sports wise in Europe? Specially the UK.
He isn't from Spain where he could be a volleyball player with his size.
What else? Play GK? Well that requires youth academy acumen. Which costs money. Don't have money? Well you aren't playing football.
John Isner is a pro tennis player ffs, 6'10" and he's shaped just like Fury.
Which isn't to say they can be a champion.
But it is to say, the guys with heavy weight measurements are doing other things and not even trying or thinking about boxing.
Why?
They have options.
Boxing you're either groomed for it from a young age.
Or you're doing it cause you can't do anything else, you're not good in school either, and it's an income.
Why do that when they have options?

- - Today's American heavies are too heavy into each other's jock. Dey ain't U daddy's American Heavyweight fighters to be sure who'd throw down at every chance.
Haven’t read the other answers, but the answer seems obvious; playing basketball and football. Could you imagine if soccer and boxing were popular in America?
The funny thing is if you look at Boxrec America still has multiple times more active HWs than any other country, roughly 7x as many as the UK. Over a quarter of HWs on the planet right now are from the US.
thats a bit odd isnt it
wilder gets slagged off but hes top of that pile by a long way
I’m sure some will come along.
It has been a long time though, I’m not sure you can even blame it on boxing possibly not being the glamour sport it used to be because there’s still so much talented American fighter in other weight classes, so It just seems a bit of an anomaly that there has been so little in the heavyweight division over the last 20 years.
i used to think it’s because the heavyweight division wasn’t sexy when the klitschko’s dominated, especially for Americans, so it didn’t inspire kids to wanna take up boxing but that can’t be true because most people start young before they probably have no idea of how big they’re gonna be, so it’s never stopped the talent in other weight classes coming through.
Then again, the longest reigning champion outside of Wlad in the modern era was Wilder, so can’t say USA were doing too bad. It’s just Wilder wasn’t the best.
it wasnt worth it before when wilder was on small money, but AJ+Eddie Hearn, Dazn and then the rest....it's now too lucrative to ignore. Wilder was offered stupid money and turned it down.
still not worth it, very long process to get to that point why go through all that when you can become a Millionaire by 19-20 years old if you're good enough at those other sports
guys with size in America only take up Boxing or even MMA after they failed at those other sports

Fcuk is wrong with them? Fury fights like once a year and just made 40M.
They are missing out, boxing isn't like the old days you make it to the top and you're working 1 or 2 nights a year for tens of millions.
Fury is making money because he is a great salesman and he is THE champion. Wilder was making way less until his career took off lately. Ruiz was also making low money until that upset.
how much is Ortiz making? how much is Hunter making? or Breazeale? or Sanchez? or Ajagba?
Now compare it to how much a #5 or a #10 ranked basketball player is making? or an American football player making? Know that not all people will become the #1 so as a general career, those other sports are much better paying than boxing.
IDK man, seems to me Fury just beat the best American multiple times and uses one of the best US prospects as a sparring partner.
Wilder is the size and dimensions you are asking to see, maybe being that big is not the best attribute, but only special fighters like Fury make it is look like it is.
Jared Anderson is working his way up and I'm sure others will emerge eventually but I don't "NEED" an American Heavyweight at the top to enjoy the sport
We have Kids in High School the height of Tyson Fury, some even taller and are just Athletic Freaks, it is no way they're picking Boxing over Football or Basketball and I honestly I don't blame them. Boxing is just not worth it anymore honestly!

Boxing is a very hard and only a very small % makes that much money.Team sports can get you paid being on the bench. You have to have a certain mentality to take the risks boxers take.
