Where is Top Ranks financial strength?

Arum and Top Rank have ruined boxing on ESPN. ESPN don’t really care about boxing anymore since one of the biggest boxing promotions is thin on “super stars”. They don’t really make a profit, like always Arum always gives minimal to the table and his cronies will scatter like roaches once the Bobfather is gone. PBC as well killed boxing on network tv for at least the next 5 years. All these promoters and managers dropped the ball on improving the sport entertainment wise by ripping off the networks.

I just presumed with Crispy racist Bob being Fury's joint promoter and having this as an ESPN PPV in America at an unsuitable time for Americans and Bob and Frankie 5hit show being desperate to flex on Eddie Hearn I thought there would be a bit more willingness from Crispy Bob help Warren make a success of the event rather than just stand back and let Frank look a bit of desperate loser. Yeah Fury v Whyte is going to gain attention but we all know all these tickets for the stadium have not all been sold to paying punters yet, they have gone for resale and as for the PPV side with illegal streaming so damn easy to find and watch it's hardly worth spending the money on 1 main event mismatch when the undercard is so God damn awful. This might do very well, 5hit show Warren and Crispy Bob are begging for it to be something to brag about and Warren is banking on it, literally but this whole thing could be a disaster for them and while Frankie has blown his wad on 1 fight Bob doesn't seem to be lifting a finger to help it succeed. It's as if their bromance will turn sour cuz if it fails Bob is just guna lay all the blame on Frankie 5hit show for putting on exactly that, a 5hit show. Also couple that with the fact that Bob doesn’t do purse bids. He actually detests them. Just ask Teofimo Lopez.

It's still there. If you haven't noticed; Bob has become a very frugal spender over the years. He doesn't like to put on PPV events unless he is convinced that it can make a profit for him. ESPN and Top Rank doesn't want to assume much of the financial risk in the event that this card tanks at the box office stateside. ESPN and Bob Arum rather that Tyson Fury fight in the U.S. As opposed to the U.K. It should do exceptionally well in the U.K. Especially at the live gate but it's the American audience that has ESPN worried. It's a Saturday afternoon matinee fight in the U.S. There is just simply not enough demand for that fight stateside among the casual fan; Which is why ESPN and Top Rank are allowing Frank Warren to assume most if not all of the financial risks for this fight. In addition, rumors have it that Bob actually lost money on Fury's last pay per view fight against Wilder in the U.S.

Top Rank doesn't get a cent from the UK market. Arum's concern is only on selling the US feed. That's where his earnings would come from. And this is nowhere near being worth that investment. Warren even talking about having a replacement lined up if Whyte pulls out. What kind of statement is that to sell the fight? ​​​​You'd think he's never promoted a fight before.

I don't see what financial strength has to do with it. ​​​​​​The fight has to turn a profit. You don't get financial strength by losing money. Calculate what the fight can make. Take off an acceptable profit margin and event costs... you're left with a purse bid amount. That's what Frank did (and Hearn who came up with a lower number). You're simply seeing that there isn't that much money in the fight. Well not enough to buy an undercard.

Arum has made his money, and doesn't care about the managers. Top Rank has watched Manny and Crawford jump ship in recent years and Fury is their biggest marquee name. If he beats Whyte, which he should, that lines up a super fight with AJ or Usyk, unless their rematch goes to a trilogy. They can build Shakur, Beterbiev and still have Lomachenko when he returns. If Bob can make a fight between Canelo and Beterbiev that would be a lucrative fight. If Loma fights winner of Kambosos/Haney there is another big fight. Tank will continue to avoid him. Murata and Berchelt are done IMO.

The main event sells itself. It sucks for the fans especially the ones attending but Frank didn’t need to put on a good undercard cause the fight will draw massive revenue regardless. Frank should have used this opportunity better though, this is the biggest fight on British soil in decades, so many eyes will be watching, so it’s a chance to sell a Dubois or a Yarde to a casual audience. Even if you just put them in tune up fights it still gives them exposure. For example a card like this wouldn’t even be that expensive: Fury-Whyte Dubois-Hammer Yarde-Bolotniks Essuman-Tetley Then you fill the card out with your top prospects like McCann, Itauma, Noakes, Adeleye etc.
