Fury actually looked like this before he went completely off the rails with drugs and booze

There has been some revision by himself and his fans that he always benefited by looking puffy and fluffy in the middle and back. What if he stayed in elite shape? I can't see how that wouldn't have benefited him? Maybe he still takes out Wilder but without getting dropped 3 times in the process.

- - He was always gonna duck the Wlad rematch and AJ King's ransom for low hanging fruit of Deyonce.
U boy gypsy sissy posing as a nincompoopsy great, 6 yrs Ring Champ and 1 scrawny defense vs a fighter he easily KOed the fight before, a new Ring record!
He definitely damaged his body but at the same time that near 3 year absence probably helped him too. If he had stuck around there wouldnt be the whole feel good sympathetic story of the mental breakdown guy who got fat but then came back against all odds. There would have been a ton of pressure for him to rematch Wlad and fight AJ too, and remember peoples perceptions of Joshua were very different then to what they were post-Ruiz.
Hes played a smart game really. If he retires after Whyte he will probably go down as an ATG and the best HW of his era off the back of fighting two actual top 10 level guys from this era, plus 39 year old Wlad and Del Boy.
He is not disciplined enough to keep his weight in check. The fury that we see now also seems more reckless and gets hit a lot. He was a lot more slippery and trickier to beat when he was awkward and unorthodox earlier in his career. This version now might lose to guys like usyk and even jared anderson.
Between the Martin Rogan fight, and Kiltschko fight. Tyson Fury suddenly transformed into his best condition ever. I put this down to chasing his destiny.
Before and after these points in his career, he was pretty much in the same condition he is now.
Fury for the most part of his career, was a big game, clumsy super heavyweight who could have a go in all area's.
That picture up above, is the peak Riddler. Before the Martin Rogan fight, nobody deemed Fury as some sort of technical genius. All of the media narratives, and positive stereotypes we associate with Fury these days 'Only appeared suddenly during that short period'.
Note: The Riddler Fury, can only per from optimally within a certain weight range. So by me saying Fury was in his best condition ever? Is maybe not 100% accurate. In order to fight with his old Riddler style, Fury was in his best condition ever. Tyson Fury no longer wants to put himself through the training in order to use his old Riddler style, he has moved on from this version of himself. Fury is comfortable, and enjoying his current training lifestyle.
Tyson Fury eventually was always going to evolved back into Kronk Fury. Kronk Fury is the most innate Fury. Anybody who is honest, and has attentively watched Fury's entire career 'Knows exactly what I am talking about'. Fury at his most innate level, is a big game, clumsy heavyweight who is extremely offensively minded 'With the added ability of using rough house tactics, as his defense'.
That is innate Fury. Peter Fury refined his style, and in some ways inhibited his innate traits. This inhibition ultimately lead to the creation of The Riddler'.
Kronk Fury is Tyson Fury completely raw. This man is ether going to win by knock out, chaotic points victories, or he is getting stopped himself. This is how all of his fights at elite level will play out from this point on wards.
His weight is part of his success though. If he was “in shape” like you presented in your picture, would he have been able to get up from Wilder’s knockdowns?
Remember, weight matters, that is why there are weight classes. Naoya Inoue is a beast at his weight, but if he put on weight and became a welterweight, could he KO Terence Crawford? Due to the weight, probably not.
If Fury was lighter, he could have been KO’ed by Steve Cunningham and Deontay Wilder. And probably others.
Fury’s weight, height, reach and skills all work together to make him who he is. I’d advise Fury against trying to get a 6-pack until he retires. Which he won’t do then lol, he will just become more overweight.
He is more than fine at his current physique. If it ain’t broke, don’t try to fix it.
He started to gain weight during second Chisora fight. Fat is better for body punch absorption though. Prime Fury is fat Fury. (Wlad and Wilder 2)
Having a strong developed core is what works for shot absorption. If it were fat historically all HW champs would have had beer guys when we know that's not the case. Fury does well despite the fat that hangs off him now, not because of it.
He would still have done fuck all apart from box bums and Wilder. And he would still have chicken sh1itted his rematch with Klitschko. And he would still have never fought AJ.
So not much would have been different.
