Evander Holyfield never ducked anybody never unlike Lennox Lewis he fough atleast good version of Mike Tyson
-better resume than Lewis
-better single win
-4 times World champion
-Didn’t hold paper belts like Lewis
-Didn’t get KOED by 1 sucker punch in his prime unlike Lennox Lewis
-fough actually opponents at their Best
-fough Bowe better version of Tyson
This is why for me Evander the real deal ranks higher than Lennox Lewis
Bowe had a better argument for winning the 2nd Holyfield fight than Holyfield had in either of the 2 Lewis fights.
okay, Holyfield bveat bowes ass the seci=ond fight clown,
There is no argument mate. It is a Top 5-8 win. That version of Mike Tyson was underrated. He was not out of condition, and was still capable. If that version of Mike Tyson was transported to present day, heavyweights would all be on edge.
Mike Tyson only really dramatically fell off in form, in the 2000's. Sometimes he was in good condition, other times he was in terrible condition.
Of course Mike Tyson was not at his peak after prison, but listen? The statistics are all there. Mike Tyson was 222 pounds vs Holyfield, he was in decent enough condition.
He clearly trained for the fight, put in a solid effort but was beaten.
The condition of both Tyson & Holyfield for the rematch was immense. For as long as that fight lasted, those fighters were moving like Middle-Weights. If that fight would of been allowed to continue, I think it would of been one of the greatest heavyweight fights of all-time.
So for me, there is no debate on how great Holyfield's win over Tyson is. I will no longer discuss anything on his matter 'Because there is no argument'.
Wrong.
Tyson never re-established himself as an all-time great after prison.
People want to give Holyfield the benefit of calling him “washed” in 1999 cuz he had a bad showing against Vaughn Bean the year prior … even tho it was Holyfield who priced himself out of a ‘98 fight with Lewis, when he was coming off wins over Tyson and Moorer.
But somehow Tyson still represents an all-time great win in ‘96, years after his prime, the Douglas loss and prison time.

- - Mike post prison record is 9-5, 8 KO wif 4 KO losses and 2 NCs in between yet another prison stint.
What grade U in?
What is the argument for Holyfield’s win over a post-prison Tyson being a top 8 heavyweight win?

Evander Holyfield maybe has better wins.
Holyfield's win over Mike Tyson is a top-8 all-time great heavyweight win 'It may even be top-5'.
Mike Tyson, Riddick Bowe, George Foreman, these are all very big wins.
Then he has a good list of solid wins.
But Lennox Lewis was the greater Champion, and I think? A fighters ratings must go up, if they are fighting contenders and defending belts.
The whole dynamic of the game changes, when you are a champion. Different pressures, and opponents on some level raise their game etc.
I am not sure whether Lewis has a better win than Holyfield's win against Tyson.
David Tua, Tommy Morrison, Shannon Briggs, Andrew Golota. All of those fights were big wins, once upon a time? Andrew Golota was one of the baddest fighters on the planet, and Lennox Lewis annihilated him.
Lennox Lewis to his credit fought, pretty much all of the most powerful punchers of the 90's.
Conclusion: So Lennox Lewis was the better champion, and beat every fighter that he had ever faced. But Evander Holyfield has the greater single wins. Where you rate ether fighter, is what you value and give credit to most.

Holyfield was a ped cheat
lennox is overhyped, only had to just about beat a post ped run down holyfield and a long past it tyson.
Prime lennox 97-99 was great...but it seems ppl only think of that version of lennox and compare him to the worst version of others which is why i say he was overhyped.
For me, what defines 'great' in boxing is to
for 2 guys in their prime at the top level, established (not lucky mandatories with the element or surprise), fighting each other.
Example duran vs leonard.
Beterbiev vs gvozdyk
fury vs wilder is NOT an example.wilder was unproven and shouldnt be hyped unless he proves it vs other established names
It’s common for “all time” discussions to focus on when fighters were at their best, especially when it’s clearly defined.
For Lewis, that’s when he was with Steward.
Same with Wlad Klitschko.
For Tyson, that’s when he was with D’Amato.
For Bowe, it’s conveniently reduced to one night 30 years ago when he was in shape and had a 30 pound weight advantage over Holyfield.
With Holyfield … it’s very hard to define a period of time where he was clearly at his best at an all-time great level.
Maybe it’s the Tyson, but Tyson had hardly been tested in his return from prison. Bruno and Seldon were KO’d as much better his mystique as his punches … McNeely and Mathis arguably provided more pushback than those two “champions”.

I hate Lennox Lewis fans when they will tell me that tysons floyd mayweathers rj resume is nothing special and that they fough washed fighters its ironically that Tyson was washed Tucker-Washed Holyfield past prime 38 old Morrison-HIV Mercer-past prime Lewis arguably lost Schooled by grandpa Holmes mccall-kick Lewis ass in rematch he has mental health problems and was in jail Ruddock-was already destroyed by Tyson 2 times and physicaly broken

Larry Holmes say 80s Heavyweights are 2x times better than 90s heavyweights what about that lol
If he’s talking about the quality of opponents he fought in the 80’s and 90’s, it’s an accurate statement.
Why not ask Larry Holmes?
He called Holyfield a steroid user 30 years ago.
And Bowe’s camp wanted him drug tested.

How good does foreman think evander is? He's fought Ali, he's fought evander so is in good position to judge

Against old way past prime holyfield? Holyfield clearly won 2nd fight
Bowe had a better argument for winning the 2nd Holyfield fight than Holyfield had in either of the 2 Lewis fights.

Interesting. I wonder why foreman don't rate evrander higher? But foreman does rate evrander top ten so that's ok

November 1999
You are wrong.
Only an idiot claims that Holyfield is greater fighter than Lewis in HW division. You can say that Holyfield is greater P4P fighter than Lewis because of his CW background. I wouldn't argue that.
Lewis is one of the best cherrypickers in boxing history holyfield is better
Evan Fields the PED cheat better than Lennox Lewis? The guy that resulted to headbutts in a lot of fights? Lewis proved he was better in the ring, you dumbass clown.
