I think Thor will probably win because of his reach plus he seems to be fitter. It'll most likely be an absolute shit show anyway. It'd be better off under MMA rules because at least then it'd probably be over mercifully quickly.
He's 6'3 and like 300 pounds lol. He was also apparently a top swimmer as a youth before he switched to strongman, and is one of the best strongmen of the last 25 years. I think you'd have to say all of those guys qualify as athletes.
But relative to Thor you could argue he was slow and small, that's true.
Yep. I’m just comparing the two in this fight. Obviously Eddie is massive. Thor is just a giant. I didn’t know this fight was happening until this thread so I have no idea what either look like in training.
Eddie, Hafthor is a giant Tinkerbelle. Just another famous fairy.
Game of Thrones was ****in lame, hail the beats.
Eddie Hall was the man repeated threatening the great Brian Shaw, greatest strongman of all time, during Brian's prime. Hafthor was just a wee ***** getting on the podium here n there.
I just like Eddie more, **** that palsy *****.
More seriously, I started losing interest as they took it more seriously. Look at Thor....he's like half the size of strongman Thor. Sure, yeah, he'll perform better, or course, but that won't make it entertaining.
Firstly, this isn't really a strongman fight anymore because neither man is shaped like they were as strongmen.
Only reason why anyone wants to watch them fight anymore is because they're famous now. HWs, just regular HWs, are huge, so i'm not gonna say these dudes ain't, but, as strongmen they were huge among huge dudes. Hugest of all men. The Mountain and ****. The Beast and ****.
Which brings me to my next point. Thor and Eddie are both in better shape to go longer and perform better, but, that doesn't mean either one of them are anywhere near good boxing shape. I don't want to bet on a winner but I would bet they're both sucking wind like a dying wildebeest after just two rounds. I don't think the gains in performance will outweight the sheer novelty of what like a ton of actual human weight in the ring? Thor was like 450 and Eddie was like 350, and there's a ref so hot damn close enough to a ****in' ton. Now we'll get like half that and they're still going to be boring sad ****s who can't throw but three punches before they get tired and them punches won't even be well formed or nothing.
I mean, if I'm abouts I'll pirate it. I don't hate the circus act fights, but I feel like they ruined it a bit by trying too hard to be good at something we all know both are actually gonna be very **** at.
The more I think about it, the more I think Eddie might be able to get inside early and rip some body shots and hurt the big man. Either way, I care more than I should about the fight. I attribute that to Eddie's entertaining nature.
Eddie is tougher than Thor, I have no doubt about that. Thor just has a better boxing build imo and more experience under the bright lights.
In a street fight I'd take Eddie 8/10 times.
Zero interest but I’d be surprised if Eddie is all that competitive. I like the guy (his documentary from a while back was a good watch) but he’s just kind of slow and small. Not a single thing about the guy says athlete.

Not interested. Out of all possible fights at this level, the only one that interests me is Eddie Hills vs Big John Fury. The Great Nash would pay £100 for that. Nash out.
Eddie Hills, 4-0 amateur sensation from Billericay boxing club. 3 by knockout.

Not really that interested in it, hence I had no idea they were finally fighting.
that said, it seems Thor has been taking boxing quite seriously for a couple of years and by all accounts even changed his body shape a fair bit to be a bit more suited to boxing.
I just noticed it yesterday when I was inundated with some content from Eddie's channel. He's a very entertaining guy, I have to give him that.

Yeah, I feel like Thor has every advantage except maybe heart/toughness. So if it goes late, I favor Eddie to win. Otherwise I see an early Thor KO.
Quick reply, I added more.
I think the fight may come down to endurance.
Just watching a few videos on Hall's channel.
Well, it does seem like Thor Bjornsson has prepared better. I also think he may have the better conditioning and endurance.
I will stay neutral on the fight. Whoever wins, wins.

Even as a strong man, I don't think Hall excelled at endurance strength based events. But of course, strong man competitions have evolved into less of those type of events. That is why Hall as a strongman, may have been strong but other than that he was not in condition.
The strongmen of the 90's and going back further were fitter than the strongmen of today. They may not have been as strong, in terms of maximum strength but? There strength endurance was superior.
