It was just a small mention but watching some guy talking about Amazon getting involved with the NFL and offering Ram coach over 100 million contract to be a commentator for NFL games show on Amazon, they also mentioned Amazon would also like to get other sports on their streaming platform and mentioned boxing.
Jeff Bezos has a lot of money and I think it would be great, but Top Rank and Matchroom are all tied into contracts with other networks, I think this might be Al Haymons opportunity to sell the PBC and or sign with Amazon for a lucrative deal, from what I heard he has no long term contract with any network at the moment.
It's likely that Amazon would simply stream existing broadcasts in other territories. dazn is global, so amazon would want to make deals with fox, showtime and bt sports to air their content elsewhere. It would also be through AWS.
Youtube really needs to step up here. they've got the perfect platform in youtube. imagine paying a small fee to watch a US pbc ppv card on youtube. that'd be way better than going through crappy amazon's interface. i despise amazon prime's interface.
Makes a lot of sense given Paramount is eager to jump into streaming. And they got deep pockets. What they spend on giving PBC a yearly budget would likely be next to nothing for them given they’ll have tons of other content to bring in a lot of money.
Oh OK Good!
Yeah, but it would have been better if the 4th year option was not picked up. Bunch of trash cards that could have easily been just put on FS1.
No, the option was four a fourth year only. The deal is completed at the end of 2022. I bet shortly after they will announce a deal with Paramount+/ViacomCBS. DAZN is going PPV and PBC is going the streaming route. Oh how things change lol.....
Oh OK Good!
Haymon has a plan, he was hoping that FOX wouldn't pick up their Option on PBC which is why the Schedule been bad on FOX because he wants out but FOX have Options for the next 3-4 more years so he is a bit stuck with FOX for now at least. Will continue to use FOX to build up younger and new stars and give them exposure then moving them to Showtime
PBC likely end up exclusively under the ViacomCBS banner once the FOX thing is done (PBC on Showtime, PBC on Paramount+, PBC on CBS...) I think like Top Rank and ESPN, Matchroom on DAZN it would be better for PBC to make this move. Also just the consistent Loyalty of Espinoza and Showtime who continue to invest big into PBC Boxing, they should get and earned exclusive rights to PBC

More likely PBC gets a deal with ViacomCBS. There have been some rumors about that and Keith Idec alluded to them as well. Haymon was not happy with FOX for cutting the budget and ViacomCBS wants to stream live sports. That's probably what happens next and PBC stays under one umbrella.
Boxing is picking up again with PBC’s slow demise. Giving PBC anymore power/money is just another generation of fighters stolen and stored away to be padded up to 30-0 and sacrificed for big paychecks. No thanks. These guys are pure cancer.
