After seeing this from Hearn, I have to believe him. And it's apparent to me now that all of these twitter talk by Haney and George means nothing. There have been oral offers made, I'm sure. Nothing, however, has been made officially. What Hearn and DiBella are telling Haney and George, respectively, isn't being understood properly. Discussion have occurred, and despite reports that Kambosos is moving on from Haney, I've heard that DiBella is optimistic that the Haney fight will be next.
All of this makes me wonder whether boxers are constantly being left in the dark by what their promotors are actually doing. You have to think that the fighters themselves are the last to hear what's going on in negotiations, and that means that all of this twitter nonsense is just noise. They both know as much about who they will fight as we do. This is between DiBella, Hearn and Arum. Those are the guys that know which way the wind is blowing.
If they are going to fight sometime between June 2nd and June 5th, that means no later than March 10th will they want to start training camp. So we have a couple week for Kambosos' next fight to get inked. TWO WEEKS.
Will the WBO call for a mandatory defense in that time? I hope it does because this shit is getting old.
Haneys promoters are trying to build him up so an undisputed title label before moving up to 140 might be worth the risk in offering more money than Bob, and try to snatch the title from George.
But
Haneys has that fake mayweather style so it shouldn't be a problem for George to cruise to victory and outwork a backpeddling lack of power Haneys.
Oh ****! Man, that's pretty grim for Haney. But Garcia? I have a feeling that a lot of pressure is being placed on George by his manager and promotor to not fight Loma. I think George actually wants to, to see if he can do it. But Lou is pressuring him to fight Garcia.
But here's the thing. The WBO mandate to fight Loma is going to occur before June. So before he fights his tuneup, they're going to make him fight Loma. So how is he going to fight Garcia later? I doin't think George will dump the belts.
I’ve been saying from the beginning - zero chance Kambosis-Haney happens. Kambosis-Garcia? Better chance, but still difficult. I think the only way it gets made is if they’re able to offer Kambosis so much more money to come stateside than they were for Haney that he agrees to do the fight in Vegas. I just don’t see Ryan’s people sending him to abroad for his first title fight - you just don’t see that with guys as popular and talented as he is.
If that’s the case, Ryan has to get through a tuneup and George would need to sit tight or fight an absolutely bum for a tuneup in the meantime. and as you said a mandatory could be called.
The one piece about that that makes me think it’s possible is that it’s Loma and Top Rank. Loma doesn’t want to fight a random for a vacant title - he wants all the belts back in a huge fight. I could totally see him agreeing to step aside in return for an agreement to get the winner of Kambosis-Garcia.... huge fight for all the belts.
However - as I’ve said since day one - I think it’s far more likely he just ends up fighting Lomachenko.

Haney-Kambosos is a Friday Night Fights level. I wouldn't invest more than 300k for both fighters. That's the resistance.
Lol. You know I'll watch it. Just to hope that the belts don't get tossed to the four corners of the world, which is what would happen if Haney won.
beating the #1 guy in the division is overrated. beating a bunch of bums and looking horrible is the real way to get to #1
Reality will kick in for you soon. I saw you reference Boxrec before. Loma is at 3, Davis is 1. I was generous, but I like Loma. I keep him relevant.
OP, I appreciate your zest for the lightweight division. I know you are generally interested in the division and especially in Loma being the champion of all the bogus belts, by any means. I know in Ukraine, and Europe, belts are everything, better than even God.
In North America, tho, they are next nothing to nothing, to smart boxing fans. I'm an expert at lightweight. Not saying you are a Euro.
Random thought: Kambosos doesn't make my top 10.
My top 5:
1. Davis
2. Loma
3. Zepeda
4. Cruz-Gonzalez
5. Haney
Kambosos ain't crap.

But Davis first??

Totally, then everything can be heard and understood. These promoters are clearly lying to their own fighters about what business they are conducting on their behalf.
Im sure it used to work a treat where a promoter can fiddle things and lie but now there is social media and direct contact between opposing fighters and managers and promoters things can be caught out which is what we are going to see here.
Exactly and I have a bad feeling that Hearn isn't doing right by Haney either. DAZN would prefer Ryan Garcia get the fight, and Hearn serves 2 masters in this situation with Haney and DAZN. So Hearn might be making it seem like he's trying to get the fight in behalf of Haney while really doing DAZN's bidding behind closed doors.
They should just get on Zoom with the lawyers and figure it out.

I definitely agree. Especially at this point because if I went out publicly stating something that wasn't true, that an offer had already been sent by email and it hadn't been, I'd be calling Lou up and telling him enough of the bullshit. I want to know what exactly has been done and not done, and what it is that he's actually doing. Sitting in the dark is not something I'd be cool with. Everyone is yanking each other's chain.
