To start I was a huge Thurman fan and thought he would take over welter after Floyd. Alot of fans say he stopped caring about boxing when he got married. That I can speak on as thats just speculation. All I know is that I mean as saying Keith sat out his prime.
Now onto last night. Keith boxed beautifully, has great footwork possibly better then I have seen from him in his last 3 fights.
I also thought he wasnt going for the kill for a few reasons..
1) He didnt wanna be careless and get caught
2) He wanted to get the rounds in
3) He didnt wanna punch himself out
you guys are forgetting he had what 3 fights in like 4 years? First fight back in 2 and a half years and he is being bashed. Seriously? Fans are too fickle. I was expecting a crap performance like he has vs Josesito yet he came in there and looked like Keith from 2015/2016. For a 2.5 year layoff he showed zero ring rust.
Also Barrios refused 8oz gloves so they fought in 10. If it was 8oz Keith wouldve ko’d him.
If it was upto me Id have Keith vs Boots or Bud next.
Also, he needs to get his liver checked out. I never seen anyone get hurt to the body like he does every single fight since Collazo. Thats not normal. His body is the equivalent of Amir Khans chin.
In summary: for 32 years old and a 2.5 year layoff he looks like he didnt miss a beat in 5 years
I thought he lost his hunger when he married that Nepali hottie and started getting all into spiritualism and that buddhist ****.
Fighters don't need that type of nonsense.

All things considered, Thurman looked good.
But it's too late for him, by now. I'd fancy some chances for him only vs the current version of Spence, with a big question mark.
Crawford, Ennis and Davis would probably knock him out. In particular, I see Boots taking him out in a few rounds, big punches coming from just everywhere until Keith can't take it no more.

Paulie had a belt why wouldn’t he call him out lol. he also called out maidana
Manny and l'l Floydy where the $$$ was, and when he did finally step up to part time 40 yr old Senator Manny he was embarrassed.
Didn’t watch it yet but may tonight. Is it a decent watch? I’ve always liked Thurman but he’s an odd duck.
I personally liked the fight. Give it a watch, if you have time, or watch those extended highlights on YT. I think that's enough.

First 8-9ish rounds were pretty fun but after that it was boring imo
Good perspective. Kudos.
My question is, do you think he can beat Gervonta Davis? Take into account Davis is one of the best body punchers in boxing right now. Him and Canelo. You guys are already saying Thurman has a glass body. Gervonta was bouncing Barrios off that canvas and lifting him up with uppercuts. Barrios is a warrior. Davis spars super middleweights. He likes fighting bigger guys. Loma would be more difficult than Thurman.
Thurman had a good fight last night.
- - Makes me shudder to think what Marg would've done to him had Keef been viable then.
Remember when he was calling out feather fisted Paulie? That's the level he was seeking.

I thought he boxed real nice and agree with your reasons as to why he didn't go for the kill. He looked sharp and explosive, visibly buckled Barrios 4-5 times and won every round. I'd like to see take 1 more fight of this level, then hop in with Crawford this year. That's a super fight.

What is it with thurmans body man? The guy has a glass body. He has heart and good feet so he is able to make it out the rounds that’s he’s hurt in but man.
I agree that with the 10oz glove, he would have definitely scored a KO or TKO by cuts. Barrios was cut up bad enough with the 10oz, the 8 oz would have opened them up more.
But, I dont think thurman looked particularly that good. He certainly did not look like he could hang in there with Spence or Crawford. He was eating many of Barrios' jabs, even from the opening round, and if you look at Barrios, he doesnt throw that jab with the same distance in mind that Crawford or Spence would. Also, again, the left hang experienced a bruise and he could not throw the uppercut as he said in the postfight. I would need to see another fighter vs a top 10 guy to see where Thurman is at right now.
