Abner Mares as a SHO analyst

He was color,but i wish someone would offer Gus Johnson a gig,that dudes enthusiasm was infectious as hell.

Whatever, nobody will be a worse commentator than Lennox Lewis, lol. That guy was ROUGH to listen to. Larry Merchant picked on him so much for the dumb things he would say right in the commentary. I have to endorse this comment. Liked Lennox as a fighter but it's difficult to listen to his commentary. There are some fighters turned commentators that you'd think don't know much about the sport. SRL and Lennox are two for me. As for Mares he doesn't add much for me but he doesn't bother me either. He's a little stiff with his speaking but the actual content isn't bad (even if it's not incredibly insightful). Hopefully he will grow into the position. Mora still isn't great but he's alot better than what he was when he first started out with the DAZN commentary.

Abner is decent, he getting better and better. Its just about being comfortable on the mic and he is getting their. They know with hiring boxers its gonna be a process but that seems to be pbc goal is to employ their fighters to jobs anyone can do basically keeping the money in house.

Abner isn't a good play by play guy. He should have some role. Similar to what Porter provides. Commentary in between fights.

Does Chris "let him out the cage" Algieri have a contract with DAZN now? Hes a pretty intelligent analyst and student of the game. Whatever happened to Antonio Tarver as a commentator,he wasn't half bad either imo. Don’t know about Tarver, aside from Some serious financial issues, I even believe his future wages are IRS bound. Off the wall he should be trying to line up for these celebrity circuses. Algieri is spot on and very forward with his opinions. Plus he knows the sport from inside and out of the ring, nutrition, cutting weight, etc.. He would be a good choice
