The same whimsical testing Manny demanded his opponents with, the irony is off the charts, the guy refuses the biggest fight in history with his biggest ever payday over a blood test that he later demanded his opponents to take, what changed and it proves all the excuses he used to derail the fight was all total BS.
- - Yo, TUE 51-0 didn't even make the venue and date he reserved that was the first concession Manny gave him.
Manny made the date but couldn't make the venue because it was booked up.
No wonder U never know what grade U in.
I’ve never heard Charley Burley referred to as the GOAT or anywhere close.
But Robinson didn’t seem to want to fight him, fight was on the cards, but it never happened.
It completely depends how you analyse it.
If you put the exact Ray Robinson that fought in the 40’s in the modern era he may well struggle, sports science always advances and athletes today are fitter, faster, have better recovery, use a sh** load of PED’s etc etc.
However, if you put Ray Robinson in the modern era and assume he utilises the benefits of modern day sports science, imagine how much better he would’ve been. It’s completely hypothetical obviously.
I think it’s very difficult to match a guy from 70-80 years ago to a modern fighter, the sport has evolved so much. Would it be 15 rounds or 12? What type of gloves would they use? Would a accidental cut result in a stoppage or technical decision?
I agree with you, that's why its all just opinion, fan talk where people pick somebody for a million reasons, and mostly none of it is rational analysis, more about likes and dislikes, whatever tickles your fancy as they say.
Filipino boxing star Manny Pacquiao has given the clearest indication yet that he is willing to compromise over Floyd Mayweather's drug-testing demands.
Pacquiao says he would now be willing to take a blood test 14 days ahead of any fight with his American rival.
"I have agreed to it, but they should not draw much blood," he said.
Negotiations for a bout between the pair fell through earlier this year when the unbeaten Mayweather insisted on Olympic-style random drug testing.

So yeah, months after the initial negotations fell through, Pac accepted all of Floyd's testing diva demands.
and they were whimsical, because they initially had agreed on a 30 day cut off, that Pacquiao accepted
then Floyd arbitrarily demanded it had to be changed to a 14 day cut off
and then he kept putting more and more roadblocks, after he couldn't use that excuse anymore
he was hell bent on ducking that feared pinoy for years.
Today with all we know , how fking gullible are you , grow a brain kid.
When did Pacquiao accept the testing demands? The same "whimsical" testing that is extremely common today.

No, that's Pacquaio vs Mayweather around 2009
2 ATGs, P4P#1 and #2, still in their prime, in the same ****ing division
It didn't happen because of Floyd's whimsical testing demands, trying to bully an equally big star in the negotiations
Then, some months after the initial negotiations fell through, Pacquiao finally accepted all testing demands from the diva, but Floyd came up with a myriad of different excuses in order to duck the fight
¨i lost the urge¨
¨Pacquiao must accept flat fee¨
¨Pacquiao must leave Bob Arum¨
¨Pacquiao has marquez problems¨
¨belts don't make me, he can have my belt¨
etc etc
it took 6 years for the fight to finally happen, when it had lost most of its luster and Pacquiao was totally over the hill
It's a disgrace we couldn't get the fight when it mattered and it's totally Floyd's fault. He was the Khan to Pacquiao's Brook in this case

GOAT is like a campfire story night, so many truly great fighters are scattered throughout history nobody can say anyone was the best of them all its all just opinion, l,ll throw another log on the fire I believe both would be beaten by some of the modern-day fighters.

- - Burley a fine boxer and finer man was not a fighter prone to great fights, hence his low pay grade. He'd be an undefeated millionaire under Haymon today.

Needs to be in the boxing history section. The majority of posters here have no idea who either of these two are.
Salvador Sanchez vs Julio Cesar Chavez would rank pretty highly for me. Surely would have happened had Sal not tragically passed away.
Yeah forgot about that sanchez was that guy.........
Heard of but never seen a vid (if there is one). Imo Corrales/Castillo was the best Ive ever seen live, and the 2nd best ive ever seen live was Tua/Ibeabuchi (my HS grad gift from my Unc).
