Love him or hate him, nobody in boxing is trying to outreach to those under 30 right now the way Jake is.
Jake Paul is not the best ambassador for boxing right now for the younger generations
These people who don't understand boxing just talk way too much. They just don't get it. They don't understand what he looks like in the gym when he's in there with someone who knows what they're doing.
Jake Paul is literally one of the worst fighters I've ever seen in the ring. I saw him up close and personal and I felt bad for people who actually paid money to see that dude. But then again, they're YouTube fans so they don't understand real boxing. The entire crowd is not boxing people.
Yup , you hit it right out of the park
Just thought it was another way for him to get more viewers on his YouTube but now see that he’s trying to make a positive and yes , he is showing much respect for the sport
Hopefully he can attract some new fans and do some good all around
Nice to see you still around PBR
And same with you my friend, have always appreciated your insights and opinions since I joined NSB.
The average Gen Z has no clue who those names are so they are irrelevant to the question. Are any of them getting young kids to lace up in the gym? no but Paul is and that's the point.
They aren't irrelevant to the question when they are young boxers that have the youth looking up to them. I'm sure the names I've mentioned have many young kids in their area trying to follow in their footsteps, they just don't have the publicity of Jake Paul. Lesser known guys do things in their community all the time, it just isn't shown on Showtime
Yeah, you and I are on the same page. When he and his brother first started out, I saw it in the same light as Tonya Harding, Joey Buttafuouco, Refrigerator Perry, Manute Bol and Dustin Diamond....just a carnival side show.
I give him respect because he treats the sport with respect. He's done things to help fighters like Serrano and others on his cards. He seems to approach the sport seriously and respects it as it should be. I think it's pretty obvious he has an admiration for the sweet science.

Let's put some respect on the name of Mr. Paul, the man has completed UFC, and had "real boxer" Tommy Fury, fake injury to avoid his ferocious right hand. Also, Mr. Paul's brother gave Mayweather a harder fight than Pacquiao did. Nash out.
Actual boxers. Boots Ennis, Virgil Ortiz, both in their early 20s. Not with the media following of Paul but are real boxers putting in work. Heck even Devin Haney could be admired and looked up to

I totally have a different regard towards him from when he first started making noise
Yes , he was a little fugh but problem child seems to have taken the bull by the horns
He’s putting the right work and saying all the rights things when in all reality he really doesn’t have to at this point
At lest he is out there making some kind of positive impact which you can’t say about most fighters

Who is then and more importantly who are the young kids actually looking up to now in Boxing if not Paul?
Kids used to grow up idolizing Marciano and Ali and Tyson who is there but the Problem Child?
