Yeah they will stop Clen but it does point out how bad their stand up is which raises the question to what would happen if Clen would practice wrestling and takedown defense etc for 2 years, what will happen then ? It is really astonishing how bummy these UFC fighters are in stand up when they are getting KTFO'd by youtubers. I wouldnt say bad at "stand up" because that incorporates a lot more than just boxing, there are some very good dynamic strikers in MMA. But the best boxing based strikers in MMA are journeyman level in actual boxing terms imo, which is to be expected. Jake is not a great boxer but he has been training boxing EXCLUSIVELY for like 3 years now, and because of his name and money hes able to get access to good coaching, facilities and sparring partners. Add to that that hes clearly a decent athlete, probably juiced up, and gets to hand pick who he wants to fight, and it isnt all that surprising that he can pull this off in a boxing match. Its all very calculated and strategic though. Hes not fighting MMA guys in MMA or boxers in boxing for a reason. As for Canelo with 2 years of wrestling, he'd do well obviously assuming he actually picked it up properly, but there are BJJ black belts, Div 1 wrestlers and occasional olympic wrestlers and ADCC champions in MMA, you cant just assume you'll be able to deal with that because you dedicate 2 years to it. Same as you cant mold someone into an elite pro boxer just because they worked hard for 2 years. Canelo would presumably be fighting at 170 as well, that division has Usman, Colby, Khamzat and Burns in it ie 3 very high level wrestlers + one of the better BJJ guys ever to enter MMA.

Those MMA guys Jake is knocking out would likely stop Canelo in the first round in an MMA fight. These crossover fights pretty much come across like a calculated set up to make MMA/the UFC look bad tbh, especially when you take into account that Jake Paul has a massive grudge with Dana for some reason. If they're so trash why not fight them in MMA? its not like MMA rules ban anything from boxing the way boxing bans most MMA techniques. Jake Paul calls out Nate Diaz & Jorge Masvidal knowing full well they cannot fight him. It's like the guy who picks a fight and tells his friends to "hold me back".

He'd definitely be the best pure boxer of the MMA guys Jake has fought but tbh after seeing Jake sleep Woodley like that i'm not convinced Jorge would be guaranteed to win, plus hes 37 and coming off of a bad KO loss himself. Hes already had a rough fall from grace compared to where he was 2 years ago and if he lost this fight too he'd never live it down. The majority of MMA fighters are so used to striking with weak punches due to lack of protection. They get so used to those weak punching techniques, that if they get in the ring to box, even with a full 8 week training camp, they are already to set on their ways of punching. Very rarely, I see MMA fighters consistently throwing real meaningful punches. Usman, Covington, Jon Jones to name a few. To be fair, it’s MMA, some fighters don’t need to be great strikers because they are so good at other things like take downs and good submissions skills. Jake Paul is really exposing MMA as a sport that largely disregards good effective punches (they have no choice due to glove size). When a youtube celeb who is just boxing for fun and is no where near elite, can KO you, a combat sport pro, that is pretty bad. Like look at what Holly Holm did to Ronda Rousey. Stepped back, punched Rousey from long range with ease, thwarted her take down attempts and absolutely schooled and destroyed her in her own sport. Holly Holm showed that a dedicated boxer can find more success in MMA than a dedicated MMA fighter could find in pro boxing.
