It is classic.
Spence fights Porter.
Casual opinion: Oh, an easy work for Spence, Porter is a gatekeeper.
The reality: Spence wins a very competive fight.
Jermall Charlo fights Derevyanchenko.
Casual opinion: Oh, Derevyanchenko is nobody, Charlo must destroy him.
The reality: a pretty competitive fight.
Lopez fights Kambosos.
Casual opinion: oh, Lopez must stop him inside 3 rounds.
The reality: Kambosos wins.
Gervonta Davis fights Cruz.
Casual opinion: Oh, easy work for Davis.
The reality: Davis probably should have lost a close fight.
Joshua fights Usyk.
Casual opinion: easy work for Joshua.
The reality: Usyk wins.
...
Why are you doing that all the time? Predicting somebody will just destroy a legit contender or even a legit ex world champ?
It's a good point.
Guy's in the top 5-10 will unlikely be easy every time.
They're top 10 in the world for a reason more time than not.
Cruz had never faced a ranked opponent in his life.

No. Homo kisses.
Sorry, you have to learn the difference between a fact and an opinion.
But don't feel bad, it's par for the course on NSB.
Sorry you can't accept the truth
Each fight is different but to answer the question, alot of reasons why it happens, some reasonable and some not reasonable and these will come from different people's with different agendas (aka Fanboys) or those with no agenda at all.
For sake of argument, there are two boxers A and B. A has an upcoming fight, often fans of A will hype up the opponent and fans of B will denigrate the opponent. If A smashes his opponent, his fans will say he triumphed over a dangerous challenge and B will say they knew the opponent was terrible.
Now say if A struggles, his fans can say that he struggled because of the quality of the opponent and B will say that it was a Cherrypick nearly gone wrong for the overrated A.
Then there are the fans who just call it like they see it, right or wrong, mixed into the games of A and B fanboys.
It's not an opinion. Loma barely threw any punches for most of the fight. He had Loma scared. That's a fact.

You said Lopez "dominated" Loma, that's an opinion.
Look up opinion while your at it.

The funny thing is Cruz didn't even give Tank a tough fight, but anything less than a knockout was going to be viewed as a failure. Some boxers are just held to higher standards, not like Loma. That guy can lose most of the fight and his fanboys will be on here talking about how his shoulder was injured.
Did Loma not lose to Salido and Lopez? Am I remembering wrong? Those are ****ing facts

Look up the word "fact" in a dictionary. LOL
BTW You are 50% correct, so there's that.
Did Loma not lose to Salido and Lopez? Am I remembering wrong? Those are fucking facts
The Spence-Porter and Joshua-Usyk examples shouldn't even be mentioned.
Porter had proven to be an excellent fighter against other top level guys
Usyk took out a whole division and was fighting a guy Andy Ruiz knocked out. The only thing people questioned was if Joshua was just too big and powerful
Kambodos and Cruz had never fought anyone eo naturally if Teo and Tank were all that they get hyped up to be, they were expected to handle their business in highlight fashion. Neither guy did that and one of them got handled but at least Kambosos was a number one ranked contender. Cruz was a late fill in that proved to be tougher than the original opponent IMO and props to him for stepping up and fighting well
I don't tear down Loma. I just tell the truth. It's ****ing fact that he lost to Salido and Teo. It's a ****ing fact that Lopez dominated Loma for most of the fight. People interpret me telling the truth as tearing down Loma because they view him as some kind of boxing god.

People tear down Lopez and other people (like you) tear down Loma and on it goes, ad infinitem. LOL

Cruz had zero top 10 wins and he was the highest ranked opponent of Gervonta's entire career at #6.
This is absolutely nothing like Joshua losing to Usyk. That's absurd.
Not really. What reeks of insecurity of tearing down young fighters with promising careers to make Loma seem better. When he looked like **** against Teo people made excuses for him. Tank doesn't knockout Cruz and he gets called a bum.

Loma was gunshy the first half of the fight. The 2nd half he fought well. He lost but it was competitive in the end.
Tank had a similarly tough fight vs someone much less heralded than Teo.
Tank was a -1200 favorite. Loma only -400 in those fights.
I don't see much of the criticism about Tank for this fight being from Loma fans, maybe I missed it though.
This post actually reeks of insecurity

The people knocking Tank and Haney are insecure Loma fanboys. They can't handle that Tank and Haney won while Loma got his ass beat by Salido and Lopez
That is not the point of this thread.
