i was just rewatching the 2 canelo/ggg fights and boy did the Canelo whoop that ass twice. Gennidighey won a max of 8 rounds between the 24 rounds they've shared. But it seems after the rematch, ggg has been saying stupid shit and cherry picking. and now he says hes afraid of fighting at 175 because people could challenge him.
was the power punches from canelo too much for ggg? it seems he has autism now
To me it just goes to show you how weak the 168 lb division is since Canelo even if you are biased could only win 16 of 24 rounds vs GGG, even though any neutral observer agrees they were both even so really you have to say each guy won 12, but the 168 pounders all lost every round vs Canelo, except BJS and Plant who won a few. 168 is a truly weak division if a hype job mediocre fighter like G did so much better than them.
They were both close fights no matter who you were fanning for, every neutral person agrees they were both competitive close fights. Only biased people say it was domination, that's crazy talk, even in the second fight I had GGG coming back and taking 4 of the last 6 rounds.
G problem is the same his problem been from day 1 he always knew he wasn't that good, that's why he never fought Ward or a real challenge at 168 instead wanted the smaller Canelo. Kelly Brook exposed him. Jacobs beat him. And he never has a legit win against a legit opponent. He knew he was trash before the Canelo fight he just wanted to cash out.
I'm still very surprised to this day that the so called p4p king of boxing arguably lost 2 fights to one of the most overrated hype jobs in boxing like that. If GGG was at 147, Terence Crawford would win every round against him.
how Golovkin did a better job vs canelo in the first? When canelo ends the fight like if he was in a party with Friends, the second fight canelo landed the cleanest and harder shots, GGG ends the fight with his face destroyed, and took a lot of hard body shots, i remember that Abel Sánchez said to GGG: we are losing the fight at the end of the 8, and he said to GGG go and fight more offensively, and GGG did not want to do that, and still throwing jabs.
After that fight, Abel and GGG had problems with his relation
The second fight GGG did a worst job than the first.
But well, is your respectable opinion.
I thought Golovkin dictated a lot of rounds with his jab. That was a great scoring shot for him that night. I actually did have Canelo up (5-3) after 8 too, but gave GGG the last four rounds. I think I done an RBR thread on here during lockdown last year. I’ll have a look for it.
I’m not one of these guys saying GGG was robbed in the rematch or anything like that because it was very close. I thought the judges scorecards were pretty fair overall.
I’m not referring to him. I just see a lot of Canelo fans bringing up the GGG fights on here when it’s old news nowadays.
Man, the haters of Canelo want the third, Golovkin is talking about it, he is talking trash to Canelo.
Honestly, Canelo does not need GGG, he is looking to be 5th division champion.
Golovkin has 3 years Cherrypicking fighters and his resume is straight garbage, with only 2 good.rivals faced.
Some of you guys get so defensive… :lol1: I think it’s more likely that you’re a Canelo fan so are biased.
I’m not biased all, Canelo is the best fighter in the world IMO, but I had GGG winning that fight. I was at the fight, scored it 115-113 GGG and watching it back on TV 115-113 to Golovkin. Close fight, 7-5 either way is fair but GGG edged it for me.

Actually leOoze has picked against Canelo multiple times & lost decent amount of money too(just saying hes far from a fanboi)

Amazingly this is true and also very sad. :lol1:

No way in hell Golovkin won the second, Canelo did a better job in the second fight that GGG in the first, so, You are biased or are a Canelo hater.

This. Dudes rewriting what was seen by the vast majority. GGG shoulda got the nod in the first fight, either way in the second (like you I scored it GGG but was cool with a round either way or a draw)
In boxing it does not matter what the majority see or say, because like Roger Mayweather said sometime "the 99.9% don't know about boxing".
Most of euro fans, blacks, and latinoamerican fans hate Canelo, so they will say every close fight that Canelo had it was a robbery, as they did, of fact.
Canelo did a way better job in the second fight than GGG in the first. Golovkin was punished so hard in the second fight.
And the same Abel Sánchez said Canelo won the fight.
But but the vast majority... Please..
GGG clearly won the first fight IMO. I thought he edged the second fight too but it could have went either way.

I don't know about that, but he legitimately looked like a damaged fighter vs Derev & weak to the body after the punishment dished out. Dude looked ready cough up his liver between rounds in the rematch.
I think it’s just age tbh. He looked a little off vs Brook, struggled with Jacobs, performed well against Canelo in the first fight but looked slower in the rematch and then appeared to have slowed down a lot in the Derevyanchenko fight.
the only people still discussing golovkin in 2021 are canelo fanboys. deep down inside, they know the truth

I honestly don't see how anyone can give Canelo more than 4 rounds in each fight. He just got outworked in about half the rounds in each fight, and about half the rounds were close.
If they fought again, Canelo seems to be packing more of a powerful punch, and it is feasible to see him slowing down GGG's workrate with the power, or even hurting him/stopping him.
But the first 2 fights weren't even that close. You had a full-time fighter vs a part-time fighter. Those only go 1 way.
GGG clearly won the first fight IMO. I thought he edged the second fight too but it could have went either way.

Now that you've rewatched the fights,do you agree that the media(hbo especially) were responsible for letting their bias sway the public?or iow do you now think ggg fans were just so loud they make it seem like something that it wasn't & made you 2nd guess what you saw? (because on this site if you check the actual night of the fight threads you'll see everyone thought ggg lost to Jacobs & Canelo iirc)
(I have always been among the few on here that said Canelo won both fights, & I notice when nuetral observers rewatch them & score they think Canelo at worst drawed with ggg the 1st fight,& at worst won by like 7-5 to 8-4 even the 2nd.(but def didn't lose either)
