How can anyone talk seriously about Canelo-Plant?

This is just going to be another BJS/Smith level fight for Canelo. Other than Charlo or maybe even Benavidez, there's not much out there right now.

Plants only chance of winning is to bang it out occasionally and staying in the center off the ring. He has to pull Loma type pivots to keep Canelo from planting (pun intended) his feet too long. The first half off the fight must be all strategy towards getting Canelo to burn unnecessary energy. A lot of fients and quick but effective body shots. The second half has to be another gear offensively. Just not sure he can do it because his defense is a lot weaker than people think. So he’ll be getting drained quickly once Canelo catches on. Plant has 4 rounds to dictate the pace, get Canelos respect, and force him to fight less relaxed. I believe Canelo used to get gassed a lot because of how he exerted energy during the first half of the fight. Now he’s way more calculated and relaxed. At that pace…he can fight all night. Watch the second half of the Canelo vs Jacobs fight. He’s the last opponent Canelo respected in the ring.

if it was so easy why didnt others try it ? benavidez, charlo or even GGG could have done the same... its only easy cuz canelo is soo good... if this was plant vs charlo it will be a 50-50 fight, same goes for ggg and benavidez... Its probably fair to say that Plant would be 50/50 with 40 year old GGG fighting above his best weight. Benavidez blasts through his leaky D 80% of the time.

Plant has absolutely nothing on Canelo. It'll probably be one of the easiest unifications in history At least Smith had the height advantage although he wasn't smart enough to use it. Plant has 0 chances It's only a discussion due to that belt Plant has. Once Nelo takes it, he will fall off the boxing map.

I'd feel better about Plant's chances, if I didn't view him as a similar fighter to BJS. I don't really see what all he does much different or better than BJS, and Canelo imo dominated that fight until the stoppage. Smith had just gotten beat by Ryder right before Canelo though, so I wouldn't say he was a live dog going into that fight really. Canelo is fighting great right now, there is no doubt about that. He's actually been beating guys clearly post-GGG, and not even really needing any judging help. Is he roided to the gills? Yeah, surely, but it is what it is

Idk about 50-50, but yes it is more likely that you will lose, when it isn't 100% certain that you will win, if the fight goes 12 rounds. Good point.
