Looks like they have started to survey their customers on having certain cards on PPV going forward. Honestly, it makes sense and if they were to ever sign Joshua, then his fights would certainly have to be on PPV. When boxing is your major sport that you have, then you can't really make a profit just off subscription money. Certain fights will need to go on PPV to cover the purses.
I don't know if this will just be a UK thing as stateside at least they don't really have any PPV fights to put on at the moment. That can change if/when Canelo returns or a big Ryan Garcia fight down the line.
I’ll probably end my subscription if this is the case. Give it a year or two and all the decent events will be on PPV.
I’m not paying extra for Whyte vs Wallin ffs.
That is what confuses me, I could be wrong but when UK matchroom fights were on Sky I seemed to be able to watch them on dazn if I remember correctly, since they have gone to dazn in the UK now they are on Foxtel, or am I mistaken?
Regardless I hope they get there act together soon, the app IMO is pretty terrible, maybe it makes more sense in countries where there is plenty of content, but you go in the upcoming schedule and there is nothing, you click day to day of just blanks, instead of showing a list of when upcoming fights are on, even if there are one or two a month just show them for god's sake.
You leave a 5 hour card, then go back in and it starts from the beginning with no indication of where you have previously watched to, I mean have these devs never watched YouTube or Netflix, thats a day one feature requirement, then break the card into chapters so you can skip individual fights.
But yeah, get some content in there ASAP, get the 50 or so matchroom cards, buy the rights to other content like BT or Sky stuff if they haven't sold it elsewhere, get some momentum going instead of this half arsed launch which is probably doing more harm than good.
They had some Matchroom content and then others were on Kayo. Doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason to it. From memory the first Fight Camp was split between the two and then the Whyte v Povetkin fight was on both!
Agree on the app itself, and I have constant feedback on that. It's better now I have a TV app but I had terrible issues with Chromecast.
Still, there are so many fights that don't get broadcast here at all (or end up on the FITE app) that we should hope they start picking up content.

not an offensive word at all...and it isnt meant in an offensive way.. Whyte, Chisora and AJ are my fav boxers curently. When you are being exposed on a forum for what you are, what category you belong to, don't try to move the goalposts by calling someone a racist. Hoodrats can come from any race, we have them in the uk too. ive seen hoodrat blacks, asians, whites, eastern europeans...that is moreso because they aspire to fit into that modern translesbian rap culture...(which isnt really black, but a bastardisation of authentic black cultures(.
i say i look upto B-hop and andre ward, you come back with 'dat uncle tom'.
seriously go ffff yourself for that. Holy shhh, you called that guy an uncle tom? he's the truest black guy you can get. I have listened to his interviews for yrs because he's got a lot of wisdom to share as an old head. He had that strong minded mentality that allowed him to live a spartan life consistently...and i wanted that for myself, found a lot of motivation and life lesson in his words and energy. However, that makes me an anti black racist because we all know b-hop is just not a real black man, adrien broner is. Adrien broner, the penultimate hoodrat.
I'm done with your kind. Carry on.
I take issue with that word. It's ban worthy, considering also your tone in the previous posts, and your post history. Real 'negroes'? I see Hopkins more like an Uncle Tom. Keep your racism out of this forum, it's called non-stop boxing.

Presumably they have a deal with Foxtel that's running but I can't find anything about it. Aus and NZ were literally the only carve outs globally for the Liverpool show. Hopefully that ends soon, but DAZN has still been good value (especially as I also had the Beta and then the free thankyou too).
You'll get other sports as DAZN isn't just a boxing app in most territories. And probably won't be just boxing here in the future.
As for a DAZN PPV model, I'd obviously rather not pay more, but accept it will happen. For example, Fury v Joshua was being negotiated... do we really think that kind of dual network fight could have subscription on one side and PPV on the other? I'd always assumed it would have been a DAZN PPV outside of the UK.
As you know, we just did similar this weekend with Fury v Wilder. PPV through the Kayo app that we already subscribe to. I didn't think anything of it. Was worth the money so I paid it.
Subscription still works. It's the complicated dual network fights that will be a challenge.

DAZN in Australia is pretty wild, I've had an account since it was in free beta testing. They used to have decent content, same as elsewhere I guess.
Now the UK matchroom stuff is on Foxtel/Kayo which is paid cable, so now dazn is basically ak and barak, occasional fights and documentaries on soccer players (WTF?).
The idea behind dazn is decent IMO, execution has been pretty terrible. Matchroom putting their stuff on pay tv here is bizarre.

my point is, chalky wasnt a hoodrat. it isnt about skintone, wealth or how you speak. dunn pursley was the hoodrat. Narcisse controlled the hoodrats and idiots in the same way al haymon controls them.
the real negroes like b-hop, crawford, ward etc were not under haymon's circle of influence.

Floyd made more than those three combined.
Dr Narcisse didn't control Chalky.

racist, xenophobic, dishonest, dishonourable mentality....
not limited to one colour...i see it in a lot of black boxing fans aswell as latino.
what it does is, it blacklists crawford/espn ppv cards...because 'he aint wid al'. pbc/al haymon were supposed to be a reaction to how gbp/oscar were fking about with the careers of black boxers in favour for the mexicans.
it hates on black boxers like 'a55 juice' 'dillian shyte' because they aint wid al.
ldbc, are hoodrats.
my fav black american boxer in recent memory..was B-Hop. he was a savage, old head...like burr redding from Oz. now kenny in oz was a hoodrat, but kenny was a respectable mofo.
i dont know if you're familiar with the references, so just youtube them if you don't know.
in boardwalk empire, Chalky Whyte was legit, but that other guy, dunn pursley, was a hoodrat...
al haymon is basically dr narcisse and has all the black boxing fans and loads of black boxers under his satanic music industry spell....but only the hoodrats. the smart ones arent falling for that crap.

This is a UK disclaimer first and foremost. 2quid a month was too good to be true. I always said that DAZN USA should match any global price which is fair. $20 a month is too much and not fair when new global prices have emerged. From an ongoing 2quid monthly to lets say 10quid for a PPV on DAZN seems about right. Unfortunately I don't see how DAZN USA pricing will work. Would be nice if Canelo fought in the UK once ffs
DAZN USA not working is not because of the pricing. They needed or need to get rights to one of the major sports leagues. Boxing is a niche sport so you can't just rely on boxing being your #1 subscription seller. In the UK it is different. Boxing is more popular but obviously you will still need rights to other sports leagues. If DAZN can purchase BT Sports in the UK, they will just be fine.
Whyte vs Ruiz on PPV is perfectly fine. I'm sure eventually they will try to put Benn on PPV to see if they have something there with him or not. And again, if they end up signing Joshua, then his fights were going to be on PPV regardless.
It always seemed a bad business model to me, when we were told that subscription was the new way to watch boxing. I couldn't see how they would get the numbers required on the subscriptions, and it seems that has been the case. A large chunk of PPV money comes from casuals who are not interested in boxing enough to pay a monthly subscription for crap domestic fights. The only fights those type of people may actually be interested in (AJ fights for example) would have to be on PPV anyway, so there is zero appeal for those people as they don't gain anything.
