All I seem to be seeing is everyone saying how unstoppable Fury is & how he would now beat Ali in his prime, etc.
But I actually think he took a step back from the rematch last night, I thought he looked all around like he had worse reflexes,& more unsure with himself.
Conversely I see Usyk like all around the most skillful, fastest fighter at hw with enough power to beat anyone.(Wilder is so overrated to this day just because Fury stood still & let him land his best 1-2 multiple times, the same punches that he would've never landed in the rematch & which were going slower because Wilder gained weight.
thats not even the half of it, he had a sniffley nose, sore toenail, itchy scalp, terrible headache, vertigo & a dicky tummy bad runs for two weeks! hes lucky he could walk to the ring
The "had a dicky tummy" had me pmsl:rofl:
Fury had been out of the ring for 22 months, he had a badly injured ankle, had caught Covid twice and was sleeping on a hospital floor for a week last month, plus he was unmotivated to fight a guy that he's already beaten twice.
Fury can perform a lot better than he did at the weekend, the fact that he can show up at less than 100% and still KO a dangerous man like Wilder just shows how great he is.
All fair points for sure...

I agree. He didn't look good at that weight, and he looked very sluggish. He did box nicely, the same way Toney can come in looking sluggish but has such an instinct in the ring...
People got caught up because it was a great fight. But I think people will get some perspective as time goes by.
he will just crowd usyk and lean on him
AJ's problem was that he was super cautious, he was afraid to get hit by usyk. fury wont be afraid to get hit, he will close the distance easy.
Agree with most of what you are saying, but I highly doubt Usyk would let himself be walked down by Fury - Usyk has superior footwork and lateral movement. Almost every time AJ tried to corner him he quickly moved out of range. So in my opinion Fury is far better of being lighter and faster for Usyk and using his jab and reach.
I stand corrected usyk would be too smart to let that happen. but in the slightest chance that it does then it gets real ugly for him too.
it is in his best interest if it is a chess match. I still think fury beats him though.. fury just look all weird and awkward but dude is slick, smart and fast when he boxes.. i think that might be the reason some are swayed for usyk, he looks realy cool and fundamentally sound with all his moves lol
Could be any number of reasons why he fought and looked like he did. Im going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume this was the style and weight they felt was best for fighting Wilder. I would like to see him incorporate the Kronk style with his other boxing skills instead of trying to be a pure seek and destroy fighter. Hopefully thats the plan moving forward.
He did look somewhat ring-rusty, but that's normal considering the delays and drama and whatnot. His defensive reflexes looked like they could use a little bit more practice, and he allowed himself to get caught with a couple shots he did not see that nearly cost him the fight (fortunately he's got extreme recuperative powers). Otherwise I believe he actually improved a touch in his big-man beatdown style; his punches were more compact and "felt" heavier. He did not utilize his usual feints as much as he could which would have been to his benefit.
Usyk can beat anybody; in their potential future fight I believe it's more of a matter of Fury finding a way of disabling him, being the bigger guy with comparable skill.
How can anyone think Fury stock goes down after getting up from a shot that ripples all the way through his body. I was rooting for Wilder and both guys stock goes up. Anybody who didnt see that fight as short of spectacular isnt a boxing fan just a fan boy.

I like Wilder as well. Will always be a fan. But he was freakishly basic. It's actually kinda frustrating. And his game plan was all wrong. Add to this Fury looked sluggish. His willpower alone snuck him through that fight
a seasoned vet like Usyk would never allow him to gey away with the mistakes he was making, especially those on the inside and his general lack of movement in the opening rounds. But my fear is also that Wilder may be shot. He barely looked like he had the gas tank for an amateur fight let alone twelve rounds.
Yes it was a hell of a fight. But it was halrdy a showcase of great boxing.
I don't think people are giving Wilder enough credit for a much improved, much more focused, prepared and spirited effort this time around. I know that the done thing round here is to write off a fighter as garbage when they lose for the first time, but even a good fighter can lose to a great one.

I think it was the best Wilder I've seen and the worst Tyson Fury. I don't think he is on the slide more he had difficulties outside of the ring and not the best camp.
I think he will be lighter and a lot sharper for Usyk & he will need to be. If he comes in at 277 or close, I'm taking Usyk too run rings around him
I give Usyk a real shot. His IQ alone will require Fury to do some work to get a win. Fury is also used to being the more mobile guy, even at 6'9 and I think Usyk is just as mobile if not moreso.
Add to it that he's a crafty as southpaw that is a bit crazy like Fury and it makes for an interesting fight lol.
he was there to brawl and walk wilder again gronk style. He pummeled wilder in the 2nd fight with ease for sure there must be a certain degree that he already underestimates wilder on the back of his mind. He just knew he’d win against wilder no matter what, and wilder trained like crazy for that fight. And was way way hungry for the win.
If fury uses same strategy over usyk i think it’ll mean trouble for usyk as well since he is smaller than wilder. If fury chooses to slim down and box, then i’d still favor him any day of the week. usyk is really good but fury has a lot of advantage over him.

There is no way Whyte beats Fury. Literally zero chance, unless Fury is totally unmotivated (which is always a possibility with him of course). Usyk, that's a different story.
Fury must be in his best shape to deal with Usyk.
He is going to have to be in his best shape to get past Whyte before Usyk. I think Whyte beats that Fury. Wilder's power comes from range (e.g. right hand that put Fury down). Fury closing the gap kept him relatively safe. Closing the gap against Whyte is asking for it.
That was not a well trained Fury who just happened to fight a guy with power who was fighting like. street guy who doesn't know how to box.
A well trained Fury should have gotten Wilder out of there in 4, that is why I picked 9 rounds this time.

It was injured in the third after Wilder was dropped, check the footage and you can see the ankle twist.
No excuses from Tyson though.
Fury will demolish Usyk like a little boy, hit me up if anyone fancies a bet.
