Let's pick this one. Usyk is obviously MILES ahead of Wilder in talent. So let's call this one. Usyk obviously outfoxed Wilder hands down. Usyk is also there to be hit he was marked up pretty good last night even though he pulled off the win with an excellent performance. So does this play out? Is Usyk able to avoid the longer and WAY more powerful right hand from Wilder?
Wilder has a punchers chance against every heavyweight in history.
His weakness is on the inside. he has no big power on the inside, he needs that right hand from the outside. Usyk will have to be very careful, and he isnt really a smothering style fighter, he darts in and out, side to side. I would love to see Usyk v wilder, more so than vs Fury. I think Usyk has little chance with fury but I think he would have a good chance at wilder yet its also high risk, so the whole 12 rounds you would be on the edge of your seat
Very good post, I think Usyk should get inside and work the ribs for at least 6-7 rounds, but he needs to get inside.
It would be fun!
Now, here is the problem, how can Usyk fight a dead man after October?
Wilder knocks Usyk out before round 6.
If Joshua could punch he would have probably knocked Usyk out too.
He can punch, he could not sit to find a target. Wilder sits and telegraphs too much. No one knows how this plays out but I would go with the guy who actually has a brain.
Wilder does have the advantage that his straight right will be angled downwards. The difference between the two Fury fights was that Fury was dipping after feinting in the first one. He stayed upright in the second and Wilder angling up is not as powerful. That said I don't see Usyk getting caught on current form.
Wilder is done anyway, Fury will finish the mjob and retire him.
Usyk would probably look like Wilder v Szpilka except Usyk is way better and outboxes him even easier, with probably less chance of being caught.
Wilder does have a great eraser, I just think fighters with high IQ rarely lose to a punchers chance
Wilder is actually in the same weight class as an amateur, they both in Heavyweight division (equivalent to Cruiserweight in Pro). Usyk is by far the better pedigree. Wilder is dangerous when he land clean but with Usyk it would be difficult to land clean right hook and that is where Wilder is technically quite limited. If we look at the cut on Usyk face post AJ fight, they are in left, center, and right part of the face which indicates combination of left and right punch that landed. Wilder left hand is almost non existent - he knocked Fury down with a left but that after he landed the big right. That's why it was nonsense when Wilder said to open Fury's cut again. The cut is on Fury's right eye because Wallin is a southpaw.
Usyk will be too smart to avoid and break Wilder's rhythm. Unlike big George who can land big shot from every angle, Wilder needs to adjust before throwing and Usyk's footwork makes it very difficult. I think a KO is also possible for Usyk, not by one punch like a real heavyweight but series of fast combination could be devastating as well, like AJ in 12th round before saved by the bell.
No chance Usyk beats Wilder as easy as AJ. Wilder is much more wild and random and unlike AJ will constantly be going for the knockout. He won't try to win on points with jabs and pot shots like he's a featherweight like AJ did. I guarantee you Usyk will fight way more cautiously against Wilder than he did AJ.
I don't think Wilder defeats Usyk. What is with sudden rise of belief in Wilder? Usyk would turn him all night long and eat him mid-range while Wilder is flailing his arms unable to control range (same thing Ortiz had a lot of success with but unlike Ortiz Usyk moves well whole 12 rounds).
Both Usyk and AJ fans should hope that Wilder beats Fury in two weeks.
Fury's style clashes very badly with Usyk's style, and it would be extremely difficult for Usyk to win.
Wilder could easily knock out both AJ and Usyk, but at least the styles make it interesting because his aggressive punches open him to counter shots.
I am picking Wilder to win myself I may be wrong though cause I have been twice so far LMAO

Wilders longer and more quick twitchier. Plus the obvious power and hand speed that he has. Usyk is a great boxer but to win he’d have to put himself in some real danger. I’d fancy Wilder in this match up.
Chisora showed how to beat Usyk until he gassed out. Force the pace, crowd him, pressure all night and make it a dog fight.
That's not Wilder though. If Wilder lands a bomb, he wins. If he doesn't, he loses. It's never rocket science with a Wilder fight.
I think Wilder has a better chance because even though hes far less overall skilled than Joshua, he has that sniper bullet one shot KO power right hand. AJ is heavy handed but not to the extent that you'd need to be to hail Mary Usyk.

Good assessment.

That's what I'm saying. Wilder can and will pull the trigger and range will be a factor in a fight with Usyk. Wilder has a much more dangerous style than Joshua. People just see how Fury beat Wilder and ride with that when discussing Wilder Usyk. Wilder won’t get tired fighting a guy who won’t clinch. Usyk could pop pop his way to a decision, but I’d have to see it.
