He’s underrated. He just mentally checked out of the sport.
I think he beats Usyk in the rematch and he beats Fury/Wilder but he’s done. The fire is gone.
Man was taking pictures with fans before a fight. That’s a celebrity not a boxer.
He mentally checked out the sport but beats all of the top heavyweights?
I think he underated and over at the same time. He deserves props for his solid resume but he always been a vulnerable fighter since his breakout win but after the Ruiz fight he lost his killer instinct which caused him to change his style which made him easier to beat at the top level. He may beat Wilder if he doesn't get caught but no way he beats Fury!
He’s only overrated by fanboys
he’s a good fighter, not a top fighter. He’s good enough to deal with solid C level Fighters and faded good names who are 40. He’s still good, just not everyone can be top level.
his resume has always been overrated. It has names, But you have to look at the stage those names were at when they fought.
Fury for instance beat long reigning champs, AJ didnt. Those are the kind of results that truly matter when the dust settles and you have to truly show your worth.
Never rated Joshua highly always thought he was a stiff robot in a weak HW era, only rabid Brits and brainwashed Hearniacs thought he was some all time great. To even mention him with ATG Lennox Lewis was laughable,
UK really wanted to have a champion and the promoters were more than willing to sell it to them. there was alot of money to be made hyping AJ.
He got overhyped from his wlad win. He was still dropped by a 42 year old. Look at manny pac we just see him lose as a 42 year old, that is old for any boxer, but AJ got a ton of credit for beating 42 year old wlad.
Possibly. Usyk will be 35 by then. A little older and probably a little slower. He seemed gassed in the later rounds and make some really wild misses trying to retaliate after getting hit that Joshua could have capitalized on. At the same time he could just be even more comfortable at the weight and look even better.
If anything I would expect Usyk to do even better next time. He seemed nervous coming into the ring, but now he will be more confident about what he can do against Joshua and might even add new wrinkles.
Joshua has always been overrated and I've always said it.
When he finally came up against a prime hungry fighter who came to win, he got his face smashed to bits.
Fury would've stopped him.
Very overrated but that isn't to say he is awful or Usyk isn't just a fantastic fighter.
I do see improvement though even tonight I seen some minor improvements in AJ I just think his main issues aren't even so much the obvious things people claim such as his chin and stamina though they are bang average its more his tendencies. Amateurish tendencies like staying too tall on his exits, pulling straight back etc
you are not getting away with that shit at elite level
No. (PERIOD)
GOLD medal...ect STMFUP!
His gold medal was won in extremely dubois terms. I have no idea why people mention it. He actually lost his opening fight if it wasn't for the corruption.
I'm in two minds. Joshua didnt come from any privilege. He was destined to be another statistic from the inner city. He has been diligent, professional and likeable and changed the circumstances for himself and his family for the better.
But he has always been criminally overrated. Weirdly enough, I still don't think we have seen the best of him. But he has been forced to carry the weight of the entire UKs expectations on his back and by looking at his face at the end of the fight, its frying his fucking brain. British boxing fans are like the football fans, nationalistically insecure, clueless and stupid. This was Joshua's most exciting fight going in and there was next to no hype, because people thought Joshua was going to waltz through it. In typical moronic sweet caroliner fashion. They'll now be proclaiming that Joshua was the "worst champion the UK has had" when, in reality, he's just a solid, competent heavyweight who probably resides in somewhere around the top 5 in the world. Nothing to scoff at, but hardly the next coming of Lewis either.
Very.
He’s a solid fighter, strong guy, can punch. Not much else.
He’s so overrated that because he lost to Andy Ruiz we have people claiming Ruiz is some top level guy despite the fact he’s a fat slob and has beaten no one of note other than Joshua.
Do you not get paid if you lose?
There is still a couple of hundred million in Anthony Joshua.
Your post is trying to be a lot smarter than you're equipped to deliver.
Usually you generate less money after every loss. No need to get upset about it.
The wlad win was overrated considering he got dropped by a semi retired boxer
could've stayed in the UK and fought more Takam and chisora like fighters but props to him for leaving his comfort zone
Do you think an Usyk rematch will go any differently?

And how smart was that monster deal Matchroom just signed with him?
Not as overrated as Wilder, I've never seen a champion with fear in his eyes like Wilder had in his last fight.
