I don’t get the disrespect to Pac. 2 years off the ring and at 42, immediately wants the top fighters his first fight back. This is not meant to be an excuse for him, i’m just being realistic. I miss the days when members of this forum used to make a lot of sense compare to average facebook fans. Now it’s all name calling and BS.
Guy gave us great exciting fights for 20 plus years, inspired millions around the globe and carried the sport with grace during his prime years.
Cmon, nobody though he’d reach this level of longevity due to his high octane style, but he still did well late in his career.
i do believe spence would have beaten him way before tonight. He would have had the same disadvantages against spence. He still would be 42 who had a 25 month layoff. But it’s difficult to have a meaningful discussion against a hater.
Im not trying to argue results here, the topic is mainly about the long layoff being bad for anyone in this sport let alone to a 42 yr old. Do you at least the sense to agree with that or not?
That layoff angle doesn't make sense since he was going to fight Spence.
Maybe I'm not understanding the point of this thread. Are you saying Pac should have retired instead of fighting ANYONE ?
Since Pac's inactivity was too much for the old to beat Ugas, how in THE FCK did Pac plan on beating Spence, HIS ORIGINAL OPPONENT ?!?!?!?
Of course, Ugas is now a future HOFer :lol1: !!!!!

Cornered into a spence fight? Lmao. He asked for it because he ain’t a puzzzay. Regardless of the results he actually had the balls to fight these guys way beyond his prime when they don’t even want to fight each other. There is no pleasing you guys though, you praise puzzzay fighters but bashed 42 year old guys who are still willing to fight the best. That’s just very nice.
Spence was far from Pac's 4th choice.
I blame pacquiao and his handlers. You can tell they are nothing but yes men/leeches. No way pacquiao with his name should getting treated like no name on a undercard.
im pretty sure once pacquiao heard he was getting paid the same or even more for fighting ugas they just went with it. Floyd and canelo people would have smartly post poned or just pulled out the fight.
no way at 42, a 2 year lay off and less than one week of preparation for a opponent like ugas should manny been fighting him that night. The only people to blame are pacquiao and his yes men.
Very meaningful input. I completely agree. Pac maybe haven’t watch a single film of ugas fights until 10 days ago. He doesn’t even know him. And people around probably told him he’s just gonna be easy since you’re used to fighting orthodox.lol
postpone for a month would have been the right thing
Pac spent too much time trying to get more cherries in the ring (Conor, Mikey, Ryan)
Bud was pressing so what did Pac do ? Price himself out :lol1:
He ran out of options and was cornered into a Spence fight. What other fight would the public pay for ???
Spence, Ugas, a cherry....Pac was still 2 years out of the ring. If it was a ''dangerous'' move, he should have retired.
But why would he retire when he was posting training videos of him in ''beast'' mode :lol1: ?!?!?!?

His legs are gone and when trying to predict the fight all we could do is assume that he would be the same from 2 years ago which was wrong he has declined.
He could still beat someone chitty like Broner again or he could have beat either of shot guerrero/ortiz from the undercard who also have no legs and no power.
Ugas is skilled but his output is so low and he throws a lot of the same shots over and over, he will get beat by the elites, he wont be hard for them to outwork.

yup going 43 way past his best and hasn’t fought for more than 2 years is such an upset for casuals.
that is not an excuse im being real it affects anybody. ♂️
Pac was the big favorite. Fact.
Take your gripe up with LV
Just a massive, potentially career ending upset. No biggie.
That long layoff excuse for losing to Ugas won't work.

Respectfully, the time off point has been made in other fights and often fans, especially the worst Manny fans, discard that as an excuse.
Thurman made the point last night- when he lost to Manny, he was active. Against Ugas he was off for a long time.
Definitely a problem when an older fighter is out that long.
no shame in that though at this point of his career.
