Dude is a legend, HOF'er, one of the best of the era. Personally, I've never been a fan, but that's fine. He lost a clear but competitive decision to a top 5 WW and he's not going to get any better. It's clear he is past it and the time has just about come to hang them up. But to me, when a guy that has accomplished as much as Pacquiao has and has an adoring fanbase like he does, if he's not going out on his shield, he should go out triumphantly. I'm sure selling it would be easy as hell. Tell everyone beforehand that this is his last fight win or lose, put him in with an ageing but known opponent that he should easily beat and have a going away fight with Pacquiao walking out a winner. The Ghost fits the bill after edging Ortiz tonight. If PBC wanted to pull out Ortiz, or Berto, or Alexander or Figueroa that's fine. Again, it should be a celebration and a ride off into the sunset for people to enjoy. Think every great deserves to go out that way or get bombed into oblivion and go out on their shield. Since that didn't happen tonight, I say the former should happen now.
Nah those who you mentioned will just use Pac as a journey man to reach top
Then those fighters should be clamoring for the opportunity to make that fight. They'd also make a ton of money. It would be good business and a feather in their cap. The only one of them who's showed interest is Mikey Garcia, though.
He shouldn’t fight Guerrero or Ortiz. Even at this stage Pac will eat them up. He should fight Tank, Mikey Garcia, Teofimo Lopez, Ryan Garcia, Haney or Lomachenko. Most of those guys bring money, a name and some clout, and they don’t have such a size advantage on Manny. Might have to make a catch weight for some of those fights though. Pac has been fighting in a division that he gives up so many advantages.
Guerrero and ortiz both had outstanding careers themselves ,they don't deserve to go out as a fecal stain on pacs career ..pacquiao has nothing left to prove
He only wanted to fight the best and he lost to a top really good fighter with significant advantages last night
He did everyone proud he doesn't need to go out with a win against a touch up ..that's not what mannys about
If manny fights again it will be against a top fighter I just really hope he doesn't and just hangs them up
In a months time he will announce his retirement

Nah too much time and effort for manny
Think of all the fighters who go out against a journeyman or someone with no chance ...does anybody remember that
Manny should hang them up hes finished and every one of his fans should be proud of his performance last night
Tank, Lopez, Mikey Garcia, Loma are journeymen competition ? Did you say the same when Spence fought Mikey? How about a Danny Garcia fight for Pac ? Is that another weak competitor? Or do you believe Spence has been fighting weak competition too ?

Journey man route then?

Needs to go back to 140.
He needs to retire another loss does him no good, had a good run was 2nd in his era and was just beat by a B grader its time to hang them up on the pro circuit and cash in on some exhibitions which is what he will do when the big money offers come in.
When he fought thurman, thurman was just happy for the payday and made concessions eg no vada testing.
He needed another one like that, but no one was paying for that. He took the spence fight, figured he was getting paid enough, so wouldnt have minded losing to Spence jr.
Pacquiao vs Ryan Garcia at 140lbs on ppv will do big numbers. Pac KO’s him mid rounds
Pac couldn't knockdown shot Rios. He's not going to hurt any prime guy now :lol1:
I wholeheartedly agree, one more against someone that is considered good enough. And in his last fight his introduction it should include all of the divisions in which he won a world title, all 8 divisions kinda like what Michael Buffer did back then.
It's fitting for him to retire with a win.
I'd like to see him fight 1 more against a journeyman type in the Philippines and then retire, but I can't shake the feeling he's gonna go out like Roy.

I think Pacquiao should take one more fight | BoxingScene Community
