After I watched the press conference, I feel Manny is giving Spence the highest praises because he wanted the public to honor Spence as the rightful torch bearer when he pass it on August 21. He wanted the fans to recognize and rally to Spence just as they do to him in the past. Errol Spence will be the new KING come Aug. 21. His stock will skyrocket like never before.
Pacquiao's mindset is more inclined to be in the side of the betterment of the sport, this is why he is always concern about his performance every fight. He always wanted the fans to have a good experience after the fight and he always speaks about what's good for the sport so it's no surprise here that Manny is looking for that truly worthy fighter to pass the torch so that when he leaves the sport he knows it's in good hands.
I think PBC has a hand on this. They are now marketing Pacquiao as the GOAT as they keep mentioning it in the press conference. They know this aura will be passed to Spence after Errol beats Manny in a spectacular fashion. This helps the fight promotion tremendously and will certainly help Spence stock reach new heights after he retires Manny. It's a win-win for everybody, except may be for Terence Crawford.
PACs last fight is reflection of whole career fought everybody. Another famous boxers last opponent was Berto which is reflection of their career.
Last fight is what people remember if it's worthy of being remembered. Fighting Berto as your last isn't worthy to remembered so that will effect your whole career and brand. If your last fight was a cherry pick and you didn't go out on shield the rest of your career most likely was also
Thanks for the link. I enjoyed it.
It's a no brainer they want Spence to win. He's the future of boxing, but if you look at how Pac trains. He means business. He's not in here for a paycheck.
That said, there's a mountain to climb for Pacquiao to win, all the advantages are for Spence, excluding the physical advantage of Spence, there's the judges who will for sure give the benefit of the doubt to the young lad when it's a close round.
Pac needs to win convincingly, if it will go to the score cards they'll give it to Spence.
That's why Pac will be fearless in the first 5 rounds. He knows he needs to pile those points to have a chance at winning this. This smells like a passing of a baton, but knowing Pac, he's not going out without a fight. If Spence will win this. Spence will have to go in the eye of a storm. It's not an easy task for either man. That's what makes it a great fight.
Uhh nooo...This is Manny's last fight! As Freddie said he's trying to go out with a bang!
Negative Ghost Rider! Pac's never trash talks to his opponents. He is gracious and humble. Pac's does his talking in the ring,
If he gets by Spence what is left?
Bud is next! But after Bud there is nothing left to prove.
