Just asking because anyone with a brain knows that he wants to he the best without actually fighting the best.
Top guys at 130? Pass.
Top guys at 135? Pass.
Top guys at 140? Pass.
So why not cherry pick the WBA 147lb title from little known Jamal James (27-1) 12KOs?
Dude is pillowfisted!
Dude is a huge 6'2 and 70 in reach. You can promote this! Oh, little Tank Davis is taking such a huge risk by trying to become a FOUR DIVISION CHAMPION.
It's an easy fight to make too because as we all heard and saw. Tank only fights PBC guys because he's THE BEST. Jamal is a PBC guy!
LMFAO.
Come on. Yall were so hyped for Barrios and it made Tank such a legit talent why not turn back back clock and do it again too? We all know you ain't fighting no one relevant anyways!
lol....youre an idiot.....when a guy like bob has multiple inhouse options for a guy or a set of guys he isnt looking anywhere else.......ie see what he was doing with pac during pac/mayweather fever....doing everything he possibly could to shoot the fight and keep making the inhouse stuff....same type of deal with spence and the pbc.......its not "backwards" thinking...its observing and analyzing.....seeing trends and history repeating itself......take your low iq arse somewhere else you friggin clown
The only Low IQ clown is yourself and truth is? Stupid people like you pretend to be a lot smarter than you are all the time.
You hate Bob Arum for the exact same shit you're celebrating Tank for. Talk about low fucking intelligence.
Lomachenko has fought PBC guys, Golden boy guys and match room guys. Promoter lines have never once detered Lomachenko during his short career and neither has money.
How about Tank Davis? Lmao.
You wanna talk about low IQ? You are literally too stupid to understand just how stupid you are. Would you trust an observation and analysis made by a retard?
Oh but you think people respect your opinion lmao.
Very fair points, but as someone who was in agreement with the many PBC supporters who flamed Bob for his in house practices, can you understand my frustration at seeing the same people justify those very same practices?
Floyd speaks about not wanting to "make another company great" and I get it but wouldn't everyone benefit from making boxing great?
its extremely frustrating...i get it....i wish it werent the case....but ive come to grips with understanding it exists and likely always will...so i learn to view/follow the sport through that lense....trust me im a boxing fan...not a fan of promoters or certain kinds of fighters...id love to see all matchups that we want and see them happen at the best possible time....history has shown us that doesnt happen and it still isnt happening....so i accept it
bob is watching the same practice he perfected being used against his boy terrence crawford.....bob used it against floyd for many years....now its being returned on him through the WW division....and bob even held fury out of the rematch in hopes that he could hurt al and make al scramble for opponents for wilder....and now bob will play the same game around 135-140 with tank.....and tanks people know thats what bob will do and are moving on and along
yeah it would make sense....again...try reading some of my posts here...just because tank may be interested in a fight that doesnt mean he can snap his fingers and its done....especially when youre dealing with oscar in regards to ryan...or bob arum in regards to teo/loma/taylor
what if bob wants to set up taylor vs teo? what if he wants teo vs loma 2? what if he wants taylor to fight bud? if bob has plans for those guys it doesnt matter what tank wants to do....you see?
theres a cold war always going on with these promoters....they dont wanna work with each other unless they have to....remember how bob exhausted so many options for pac before fighting floyd? same with what spence is doing now in regards to fighting bud........tank can want to fight those guys all he wants but if the guy that controls those others guys has other plans.....guess what happens(or doesnt)?

What about Jaron "Boots" Ennis? He needs to get his hands on title next because everyone seems to be avoiding him; Especially all of the top 147 lbs contenders. He was frozen out of this Tank Davis card because none of the top welterweight contenders would fight him. I believe that Tank could cut down to 126 to get another title if he wanted to.

I know Jamal personally. You wouldn’t last one round with him. How many fights have you won?
trust me...read enough of this guys posts and youll realize the only fights he fights are the ones in his head between his personalities
Jamal James is the WBA regular world champion
He's (27-1) 12KOs.
Sounds like he fits the bill.
I know Jamal personally. You wouldn’t last one round with him. How many fights have you won?
The Barrios fight would make perfect sense as a bridge to a Josh Taylor fight. The frustration is we all know that's never going to happen.
Personally, I was very impressed and excited by what I saw of Davis's early career and I don't think it's unreasonable to have expected more from him in terms of "legacy" by now.
A 26 year old heavyweight can be considered young but I'm not sure it's quite the same at feather/lightweight.

Yeah as already posted Jamal James does have A WBA Belt but I doubt Tank goes up to 147 at least not right now and if he does he will likely start off doing catchweights I think he will float around 135-140 for now. Regis Prograis is the fight to make at 140 for Tank, it is a dangerous fight for him but that is what fans want for him. Prograis is a good talker and will help promote that fight. If not Prograis then maybe 135 again vs Rolly, Pitbull Cruz Gonzalez, winner of Fortuna vs JoJo Diaz...I think those are the most realistic Options
I would like see him in with Josh Taylor, Haney, Lopez, Ryan Garcia but that doesn't seem likely at least not right now
we would all love those fights...i know i would....what people, tank haters specifically, refuse to realize is how hard those fights can be to make if the powers that be dont really want them right now......
example...tank vs ryan garcia? wed love to see it...would be great...but now look at oscars position here....he recently lost the most prized asset in boxing in canelo....he had canelo gift wrapped with a bowtie to golden boy promotions and he blew that....hes also had public spats with garcia on the internet......his company now hinges on the futures of vergil ortiz and ryan garcia.........do you think hes in a hurry to put a 22 year old rising star in there with tank right now? i highly doubt he wants to hang an L on garcia right via tank davis.....it would be disaster for his company
now bob arum......we all know he loves inhouse fights dating back to pac/floyd fever and how he kept killing that fight time and time again to make more of them......same manner i look at spence/pbc in regards to bud....theyre exhausting all inhouse stuff until the fight is the biggest it can be......none of these guys really want to work with each other unless they absolutely have to and the fight is a big enough one that they can both make alot of money in the process
so tell me why bob arum would want to go fight tank...when he could make teo/loma 2...or teo vs taylor....or taylor vs bud?
alot of people just want to hate on tank because hes with haymon and floyd and theyll never let go of hate for those guys and anyone associated with them will be dragged no matter what they do....but looking at things logically and realistically even if tank wanted those fights he just cant snap his fingers and make them happen...and there are reasons why guys like oscar and bob wouldnt pursue those fights if were being honest with ourselves
who was tank supposed to fight?
taylor who just fought and became undisputed last month? was bob going to put ramirez/taylor on the backburner for a matchup with tank if tank came calling? no he wasnt....and we all know that....
teo? who is coming off the loma fight and wants an easy/mando defense and a ppv on triller? if tank came calling do you think teo would fight loma and tank back to back? of course not and we all know that
loma? coming off a loss...do u think loma wanted that fight coming off an L? prob not...although loma might not care...but even if he did would bob allow that? i doubt it
do any of you idiots think maybe just maybe, possibly, bob has ideas on matching teo and loma for a rematch? or maybe when teo moves up he might have teo fight taylor? or that he might have taylor fight bud?
bob has a few fights with loma/teo/taylor/bud he can make all in house.....do u really think bob is even considering tank? of course he isnt...so trying getting that through your thick skull on way to your pea brain when you start talking about who tank is fighting
bob and haymon only do real business when the fight is big and a big ppv fight...like fury/wilder or bud/spence.....tank vs loma aint that....tank vs taylor aint that....tank vs teo can be down the line but its a bit early
your welcome to todays installment of "breaking down a delusional idiot"...

****ing losers like you need to quit projecting that victim mentality. Must just be a lifestyle since it never gets old does it?
You say "Bob ain't even considering Tank" but the reality is Tank ain't considering nobody. Did everyone not hear that Tank is only going to be fighting PBC guys? LMFAO.
JAMAL JAMES IS THE 147LB INTERM WBA CHAMPION SIGNED WITH PBC. EASY CHERRY PICK.
How history revisionist like yourself forget that Mayweather threatened to feed Tank to Loma and Tank got right back in line real fast.
Tank such a ****ing killer at 140 but too scared to fight anyone with a pulse at 130-135.
Loma has always been willing to fight across platform and Bob has always allowed it. How about Tank? Lmfao. Does Tank fight off platform and across the pond?
People like you with your ass backwards thinking. Everyone wants these fights but Tank and his handlers. Also trash like you posing as boxing fans when you really don't want the best fights, you wanna be a little girl and gossip instead.

Stop clinging to the PED excuse, Canelo beat GGG in the rematch while going through the most strict testing, due to GGGs and his fans incessant whining that delayed the rematch, and guess what, Canelo did better than in the first match, his stamina (which was his main flaw in the first match) was way better this time around, so what happun to the PEDs huh?
Kovalev was past prime yeah, but he was still, at worst, the 4th best LHW.
If beating up bigger dudes who are naturally two divisions above you is so easy, then why aren't more fighters doing it? because most of those fights end up like Garcia-Spence, that's why.
Saunders has no power? well how about Callum Smith? biggest guy in the division, that could be fighting at LHW tomorrow and he'd still be one of the biggest guys there, plenty of devastating KO´s, gigantic size and reach advantage over Canelo, how did that work out for him?
you can be sure your dear Charlo wouldn't have the balls to take a challenge like that, nobody else is taking the kind of challenges Canelo does, and succeeding, that's why he's the #1 P4P even if it irks haters like you
You just gave two examples (Kovalev and Smith) that prove my point. Canelo cherry picks titles from guys who everyone knows are not the best in the division. Tank Davis can do the same thing, and he will get a lot of casual fans hyping him up too (and buying his fights). Loma/Lopez/Inoue are all challenging themselves more than Canelo has. P4P #1 is an imaginary ranking pushed by the media, so that ranking does not matter much to me.
Canelo had several fights at Middleweight before righting Golovkin including a fighter at Super Middleweight against Chavez Jr.
Those were 155 catchweights (Caneloweight), he never fought at the full MW limit before GGG
The Chavez Jr catchweight fight was the only exception, but let's be honest, that was just a cash grab, against an easy opponent that still hold some value to his name, and it was the only way to make it, as Chavez Jr should be fighting at cruiser.
Leo isn't a legitimate 4 division champion. His title win at 130lbs was bogus and won against another fighter coming up in weight. Pedraza should have lost to Cherry but got a gift. The Pedraza win is still a very good win however as he isn't a pushover even if Cherry got the better of him.
The Santa Cruz win however was terrible and barely rates as D+.
He won legitimate titles at each weight class. Not justifying the opponent but he’s still a legit 4 weight champ whether people like it or not.
Santa Cruz is a top level fighter, you can’t discount that just because he moved up four lb’s. It was a very good win.
Seems like he was afraid since he needed to vacate multiple times and take PEDs with GGG and Charlo, but whatever makes you sleep at night lol. Crushed Kovalev? Another washed fighter, but congrats! Saunders has no power, which is why Canelo sought him out. Tank can learn a lot from Canelo on how to avoid challenges and still finesse casual fans.

You mean fighting the kingpin and most feared guy in the division in your very first fight at the weight? like Canelo did with GGG?
I highly doubt Tank will challenge Spence or Crawford any time soon
Canelo had several fights at Middleweight before righting Golovkin including a fighter at Super Middleweight against Chavez Jr.
They were both very good wins IMO, Pedraza was undefeated and it was a big step up for Tank at the time. Plus Pedraza went on to claim a title at 135 not long after.
Then Santa Cruz is a legitimate 4 weight world champion. Yeah he was featherweight moving up but he’s still an excellent fighter.
Tank has had a lot of substandard opposition, including Barrios the other night but Santa Cruz and Pedraza are both unquestionably quality fighters.
