Spence is like Hearns 2.0 - A huge Welterweight. With a Height and reach advantage and has great fundamentals.
Everyone knows that saying a great little man will lose to a great big man. That statement is so true with this classic fight between Duran and Hearns. Same as Pac Spence fight. The size difference is HUGE.
Duran couldn't do anything.. He was too short to get in his shots.. Hearns reach kept him at bay. Hearns was winding his punching throwing maximum velocity of punches at a safe distance. All Duran can do is taste that leather over and over again. It was a mismatch of epic proportions.
I just hope. This doesn't happen to Pac.
Pac really has to dig deep and be very intelligent to figure out the sweet science on how to pass through that long reach of Spence. Odds are against Pac in winning this fight, but if Pac pulls it off. This will definitely be one for the books.

This.
Hearns was flattening dudes at MW/LHW. If Spence ever dares to go near 160 he's getting crushed.
It's not the weight class. It's the size and reach of Hearns vs Duran is what I'm comparing Spence to Pac.
Ratio and proportion. Spence is a huge Welterweight. He just said in a recent interview he weights 185 when he's not fighting.

I can’t see this going any other way than Spence putting a beating pac after the mid rounds. Pac will go out on his shield but it’ll be ugly. Wouldn’t be surprised if Errol catches manny and the resistance isn’t there anymore. If manny pulls it off he’s the GOAT in my book
Yes, it will be ugly in the mid rounds. Spence can take over in these rounds.. It's a question of how much does Pac has left will be in play.
If Pac has enough left and goes tit for tat with Spence to the finish line. Pac can edge Spence as well on points, since Pac is much faster and will surely connect more if that happens. So to me, for Spence to win he has to finish Pac, if he can't. Pac wins this in 12 rounds.
Spence dont punch like hearns he wears guys down. He couldn't drop mikey garcia i dont see him dropping manny. At worse it will be like hagler-Duran for manny.

Tomorrow see you morrow all you little bitches
Remember Ali Foreman happened teabags
https://youtu.be/G1_JW3wnrik
I remember that. That was one for the books. That Ali moment is etched in stone.
Like I said in this thread. Spence on paper should win this, but if Pac pulls it off and tame the young beast. Like how Ali did it with Foreman who was suppose to win on paper. That to me is what separates the men from the boys. I can surely see that happening here. Pac having that epic moment that just turn things around and destroys Spence. Anything can happen in this fight. I hope you're right. Off course my heart is for Pacquiao to win, but my rational mind says Spence is hard to beat. Pac has to do something sensational on this night to win this.
Buckle up! This will be an epic form start to finish.
It's interesting, I think Spence's accumulation of body punches will stop a Pacquiao in the late rounds. Pacquiao will have his moments but I just don't see him winning at this point.
Spence has the style and endurance to make Manny quit on his stool, the second 1/2 can be very long 6 rounds for Manny , go and watch Hatton vs Tyszu, pressure on an aging fighter is what breaks them, Manny does not like body shots and Errol is a hell of good body puncher and he hits it solid.
This is a real possibility because it plays into every strength Errol has, pressure youth strength and endurance, it indeed could quit manny and then his legacy is shot to sht, so if there is anything to really be worried about is a finish like this.
I get your point. I mentioned it in one of the post here. If Pac gets hurt and finds himself trapped on the ropes. Spence body shots and relentless combos can finish him.
An old time can't reset and recover as fast as a younger fighter. That's a big advantage Spence has over Pac. If Spence hurts Pac, he can surely finish him, but that is a BIG IF Spence, gets his shots in.
Here's Holyfield explaining what an Old dog loses as they age. Recovery in the ring.

I love Manny Pacquiao. He has unbelievable courage to fight Errol Spence at his age. A win here would be one for the books, however, I am picking Spence by KO. I hope I am wrong.

Yeah, we all know you're a Pac fan.
Like the typical Pactard all you post about is Pacquiao. You only show up when he has a fight, otherwise the rest of boxing doesn't exist for you. :lol1:
How many years had it been since you last posted here? Prior to the announcement of the Spence fight?
lol off topic. You are so affected by what I say. I've made you eat crow so many times. I really wonder.. How much have I damaged you? :lol1:
Pacman still quick and still can punch
Even if he lose I think Pacman will more than hold his own, land big shots and potentially hurt and even Drop Spence. Just don't like the 2 year layoff but Boxing is like riding a bike for these guys, once they learn it they never forget how to do it
I agree. I don't think this will be a short night for both men. But I can see both men can be dropped in the Championship rounds..
That said, If this goes to the score cards it means Pac pulled it off since he was able to keep Spence timid. What I'm worried about is if Spence youth takes over and he flurries of his combos and hurts Pac in the later rounds while Pac is against the ropes. Spence can surely finish Pac.
Pac is most deadly in the first 6 rounds. If Pac hurts Spence and is able to rock Spence in these rounds. Pac can win this, if in the first 4 rounds, Pac can't find a rhythm and having a hard time finding Spence due to Spence Jab, Spence, will be on his way to win on points..
So many scenarios can happen. Great, Great fight! Can't wait.
good thing pac is not duran!! $2k on this fight! manny aint fighting marquez so relax my dude.
Props to your confidence in Pac bud. You back it up with Money. That shows you really see Pac is in the driver seat.
But to me, I don't bet when it's a close fight. I see this more of a 55-45 for Spence. Pac has to do something jaw dropping, crazy performance to win this.. I can't bet in this kind of odds. But I commend your valor in betting big! I hope Pac pulls it off. Good luck! :boxing:
His corner would have to throw in the towel because Manny is the type of fighter who would rather die in the ring than quit on his own.
We like to think that, but I also know they are human, if they truly get old in a fight Ali Tszyu Chavez springs to mind things can get ugly, all Im saying is Errols style youth and endurance makes this type of finish a real possibility, I hope I don't see it, I hated every second of Ali Holmes.
Lol Errol doesn’t fight like Hearns at all
Unless manny goes full etard he isn’t getting 1 punch ko’d
i don’t see Spence clapping manny the way Marquez did let alone blowing the head right off Hearns Duran style
To be clear. It's not the way Hitman kills his opponents is what I'm comparing Spence to Hearns. It's the long reach that keeps their opponents at bay. That reach advantage is a factor in how Hearns or Errol can be rangy from the outside and still connect hard while in a distance.
Hearn is a head hunter while Spence is a body puncher. Both attacking from a safe distance coming forward due to reach. This is not about Hearn and Spence fights similarly. It's their attributes fighting in the distance that are similar. A significant attribute used intelligently by these 2 men.
Spence has the style and endurance to make Manny quit on his stool
His corner would have to throw in the towel because Manny is the type of fighter who would rather die in the ring than quit on his own.
If Spence does stop Manny I don't see it being a 1 punch brutal KO type of thing. Other than maybe landing a perfect body shot. If he does stop Manny I think it'll be a measured type of beating in the 2nd half of the fight. Spence gets better over the 2nd half, Manny starts taking a lot of breaks.
But my bet is that the fight is going the distance.
Pacquiao has been shot to **** for years. I still find hard to believe he managed to beat Thurman and still competing at world level
it just tells you how GREAT a prime Pacquiao (the one Floyd ducked) was
I hope Pác beats the odds again but his chances are very small
This could be another Smith-Hopkins type of ending for an illustrious career
I think Pac is way passed his best too. He may be shot at this point. A small guy who’s almost 43 years old….An old fighter that hasn’t fought in 2 years (or more)…..Fighting a talented, much younger, much bigger pressure fighter that is considered one of the current top P4P fighters….How many more disadvantages could a Spence fan or a Pac hater dream of? PAC’s stamina and output has been greatly tempered for a long, long time. The Thurman fight was a hard battle too. These kind of fights can be really damaging to a young fighter, never mind an old fighter that has been in brutal battles throughout a long career. In almost any fight the disadvantaged fighter has a chance to win, though that chance is sometimes remote. I won’t be absolutely shocked if Pac somehow manages to win this fight but I will be surprised. Who knows? Anything can happen when you get 2 good fighters competing, but I think most rational people would have to favour Spence at this stage of their careers.
