I was thinking…
If these popular youtubers are getting fans attention to boxing by participating in it and having real boxers in the undercard that would otherwise not get attention from viewers; how is that a bad thing?
There are boxing shows that are actual circus acts, with no boxers of note in the undercard.
From what i’ve seen so far from these exhibition events is that they place real fighters in the undercard.
Casual fans and youtube viewers would otherwise not care for those fighters in the undercard.
It’s very simple and plain to see. These exhibitions are drawing a lot of attention to boxing.
Tyson vs Jones for example, sold 1.6 million buys. This fight was a circus act but had active boxers in the undercard, as well as Jake Paul vs Nate Robinson. That’s 1.6 million homes/bars with probably millions of viewers, realistically.
Mayweather vs Logan also had real fighters, and it even had an upset in it.
All i’m saying is you don’t have to like the reason why is getting more attention. I am suggesting fans to stop, and think about what this means:
More attention=More money comes into boxing=We get better fights. If networks like the attention that boxing is attracting, they will make fights happen easier because they know the demand will be there.
Is this an overnight thing? No, it’s something that can help boxing get increasingly more attention as these types of fights keep happening. It’s a no-brainer.
It's brilliant. I mean, to see Floyd Mayweather beat a prime CW/HW Logan Paul, who only has one loss to his name, by 7 rounds to 1 was a sight to behold. I could not believe that Mayweather could get the better of such a bigger and prime athlete like future world champion, Mr. Paul.
And it was also great to see Tyson beat Jones Jr 8-0 in rounds. Now we know that Tyson is a better fighter than Jones, if we hadn't seen them fight, people would maybe assume that Jones is better, but Tyson showed otherwise.
It's a shame we never got these 8 round exhibitions back in the earlier 2000s, the thought of Lennox Lewis taking on Stone Cold Steve Austin is just a mouth-watering bout. I really don't think Lewis could have handled the inside pressure fighting of Stone Cold, but it would certainly have been a stunning fight.
- -I vote worthwhile watching lil' Junior getting beat up and embarrassed while severing his fans who did as he told them to bet ALL their $$$ on a Logan KD followed by a KO.
Good I know a lot of people who have watched these YouTube fights and have been entertained now, it's up to us boxing fans to introduce them to real Boxers who they would enjoy . Advice don't make em watch Shakur fight lol Jose Ramirez-Josh Taylor would've been a great introduction to the sport .
I posted this too late. Lol damn zero replies. I figured.
It brings more attention to boxing from casual fans and people who have never watched boxing. It's a good thing. Claiming it's bad for boxing has never made any sense to me.
