Not surprising as Wilder's side was not interested in a step-aside deal and want the trilogy.
Both Wilder and Fury have been in the gym for a few weeks now and there is still 9 weeks until July 24. Let's see how quickly they can finalize the deal as most terms are already agreed to from the first fight.
Does Joshua/Usyk take place in July as well, or more likely in August?
I mean I get the angles TO SELL IT. You kinda gotta downplay its a trilogy fight basically is maybe the best way & hope people forget the 2nd fight happened. I just don't think people are gonna buy into it that much. The level of ass whooping Fury gave Wilder isn't something that invites attention unless you just love seeing Fury winning or seeing Wilder losing. And its always about the casuals at this level. Casuals aren't gonna flock to the 3rd fight when the 2nd fight was a incredible destruction of a high level HW champion we probably haven't seen since Tyson KO1'd Spinks. I mean how successful do you think they coulda made Tyson vs Spinks II? I'mma go with not very. I think they got a similar situation here as well. Idk how bad folks wanna see a fight at Allegiant stadium, but I feel like if they try to put this trilogy fight there they aren't gonna sell out. As a Vegas guy I'm rooting on Canelo vs Plant taking Allegiant stadium's boxing show virginity.
the advantage to this fight is it had the joshua Fury publicity. I think that build upmight help sell it a bit as well. I mean logically the fight should not matter much, but logic is a scarce commodity these days lol.
I doubt Bob could force a 4th fight & hell I & I suspect most don't give a fook about the 3rd fight THAT much so good luck selling this fight or a 4th fight.
Its weird to me so many are celebrating Wilder winning this arbitration too. Multifight deals between fighters pretty much suck every time & this time is no different. And I mean outside of the payday idk that Wilder has much of a chance to win outside of landing that right hand perfectly to take out Fury which he's not done in 19 rounds so far so folks are mostly celebrating watching an ass beating on the fan side of things.
If Wilder wins, at his age, he needs to go for the AJ vs Usyk winner & try to get all the belts. If he wins, & I give him a coin flip shot at beating AJ, maybe defend all the belts a couple times & hang them up on top. Highly doubt that happens, but if Wilder can reverse the Fury L that should be the dream exit plan from boxing for him.
Its all how you frame the narrative... It could be " a fight that statistically will inevitably be a repeat of the previous, a bunch of super lightweights that must be endured so we can watch the big boys get it on".... Or "a tale of one man seeking revenge, who cannot be bought off by Satanic Bob, and his big heel, the shifty, cheating Gypsy criminal! the man with the extendo glove... the man who lied to all knowing the truth all the time." Will goodness and redemption prevail? Or will as Billy Preston sung "I have a story where the bad guys win once in a while."
Obviously it is all exxagerated and mostly BS, but subconsciously this is the narrative that is being put out there now. So fans can have a good guy, a bad guy, and the promise of blood. Fans will soon forget about the other fights, the only problem will be the fan clubs for the promoters.
Coming this winter, For the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world! Deontaye Wilder Vs Oleksandr Usyk!
And in this corner.... featuring a costume designed this time with the help of Toney Stark.... "Boooooooomb Squad!!!!" And in the corner to my left, having left the Addam's family as their esteemed butler.... "Learchchccch" (Bell rings and Usyk says in perfect english "You rang?" ).
Not in this lifetime my brother because check this out. https://www.instagram.com/p/CPExS3GBfSp/
That man looks extremely hungry. It's not money he wants. He wants some ass!
He needs to be doing something like that with those spaghetti legs! :lol1:
I don't think its likely... at this point? I would prefer the closure... But everyone has their price. If Wilder really is about that smoke so much...More power to him. We need people that don't just jump at money... that value their name more than cash. I brought my two sons up to value integrity, your name, more than cash... I wish more people would act accordingly.
Well said! Good Post!

The fact that this took another 14 months to figure out is sad. I guess they wanted their live gate money which wouldn't have been possible a few months ago. But none of these guys are getting any younger. They've just been sitting around letting their best fighting years slip away.
Hopefully Fury wins this and we don't have to be "treated" to a 4th or 5th fight between the two.
Yea Bob knew. I also suspect Eddie knew and it's all just part of the promotion for AJ/Fury in December. He should be alot more angry than he appears to be if he had truly wasted the last 3 or 4 months getting the fight done only for it to be put off at the last minute because of the incompetence of Top Rank.
If you are right, Cardiff or Wembley should be on the cards by then.
How the fook Eddie took like 4mos to figure out Fury vs AJ & Fury vs Wilder 3 came outta nowhere 2 days ago or w/e & its locked in with a July 24 date at Allegiant Stadium (supposedly the venue) already.
I feel like there is more going on here then meets the eye & maybe Bob has playing around cuz Bob's been saying Fury vs AJ wasn't a go.

He was contractually obligated. Eddie should have waited to see what would happen.
Well not really. It could have gone either way (Without any greasing Weinstein's palm. Not saying he was but it wouldn't surprise me) and we could be having a very different conversation.
Bottom line, Hearn was acting on Joshua's behalf and getting the fight his guy wanted. Why wouldn't he chase it? Its Undisputed and worth a LOT of money.

One million per cent it is fishy. The way they played it, in hindsight, was the obvious deception. Fooled me though.
I hope it backfires and Wilder KO's Fury - although I'm sure that means Arum will ram Fury v Wilder IV down our throats.
Fury has been in America weeks training, he was there before Saunders. Wilder was the fight all long.

There is still a possibility that Wilder steps aside... Look its ok, no one has to predict anything lol. Lets remember how stupid Redeemer looks with his predictions that this fight was in the bag. Lets understand that there are still possibilities that someone could decide to offer an absurd amount of money to ask Wilder to step aside. Not likely, but certainly possible. Under most scenarios Wilder should take the fight... It is really a two fight deal BTW. BUT we live in a society where almost everything has a price.
What if 4 Saudi's decide they would at least break even, and offer Wilder that 20 mil? What if they also make it so Joshua agrees to a one fight deal for the step aside? Not in this lifetime my brother because check this out. https://www.instagram.com/p/CPExS3GBfSp/
