In real time I scored the 12th round for GGG because while both dudes were giving it their all GGG landed more in my opinion in the final minute. That's what decided it for me. I scored that fight 7-5 GGG and actually had a piece of paper in front of me. How many Canelo fans did that? Round 12 of the second GGG fight is why it was a robbery. Round 5 and 11 of the Lara fight are why its a robbery. If those rounds had been scored properly both Lara and GGG would have won. First GGG fight I won't even go into because you can't give me 6 rounds for Canelo. I had Lara winning 115-113 but I also felt that Lara could have made it more convincing if he had stood his ground a bit more. For example, his southpaw straight left was money all night but he would land clean and then get on his bike for another 30 seconds. Canelo won a lot of rounds just by pressing the action and going to the body. He hit more arm than the actually body. And yes, Lara landed that left at will. There are a lot of guys who if things were fair or different might have changed their legacy but it's really impossible to win against an A side and only Canelo has proven that even as the B side he has the cards on his side. Some of his cards are a huge stain on the sport and anyone with with unbiased eyes can see it.. You don't get outboxed like 10-2 or even at best 8-4 and magically pull a 114-114 card like he did against Mayweather. You also don't lose an easy scored 8-4 at worse 7-5 fight and somehow manage to magically pull a 118-110 card against GGG. Even in the rematch Canelo got the benefit of doubt because "he did better" which is all he needed to do to win. More people still believe GGG won or it was a draw than Canelo actually winning. He has a draw against Jorge Juarez that could have been a loss. Many objective observers, including this website, scores the Jacobs fight a draw. That could have been a loss. Austin Trout could have been a loss, but I blame the open scoring system. Canelo gave away the second half of the fight because he knew he couldn’t lose. So I count that one but it’s hard to blame Canelo for it. I thought he beat Cotto but since you mentioned it, I guess that’s potential loss number eight. I don’t know about Jorge Juarez but Canelo started at 15 so I don’t hold those early fights against him too much I actually didn’t count Cotto because I felt like that was a clear win for Canelo. I felt that Jacobs was also a close but clear win but it’s worth mentioning that there is nothing wrong with winning close against top opponents.
