They are really trying to build Jake Paul up to cash him out against someone

I don't think these shows have much to do with just Jake Paul. He's the main clown in a rich people's hangout. Nobody is there just for the boxing. People should understand that. Triller is a fight club, which basically means he's a club fighter, with some lesser known boxers thrown in between. He's doing good for himself and doesn't affect boxing negatively at all. As fight fans we have to really think about these preconceptions. Basically the definition of a professional is someone who is paid to perform... I believe it is constructive if we just let Jake Paul be like any other fighter making a living... I know I know... two first names and all (Jake Paul) lol. But seriously Paul has the right model. And all the hyperbolic pot smoking etc, was there to draw in a new younger demographic into boxing... youngsters who will fund fights, perhaps combined with other entertainment. Now... regarding the issue of how good Paul is? well, time will tell. He is legit training. He works hard... Some of the greatest 70's/80's heavyweights started late: Norton, Lyle, Weaver, etc. Fighters have appeal... They can learn to use it and sell their fights on social media and fans can, in turn, demand the fights they will pay to see.

Oh fook man this boxing universe gives me goose bumps thinking about with or without the blunts & Bieber lol. Sh^t man thinking out loud if Bud & Errol could setup a go fund me for their fight & everyone who donates $100 gets the PPV for free. Donate $1k & you get tickets to attend. And when they get to $20M or whatever they set up the venue & details & boom it happens. So much less bs involved & the fans really get to vote with their money. If someone puts a go fund me up for Broner vs some random guy & that sh^t gets $300 then the bs fights get weeded out. I like this. EXACTLY!!!! EXACTLY!!!! That is my dream for this sport. If I was a younger man... I would work on this idea and develop it. Man, i look forward to posters who have some forward vision... Its nice to see someone who also sees the possibilities here.

This. The economy of boxing is great for someone with popularity to do exactly what Jake is doing without being beholden to anyone. Jake is a millionaire now. He's making more millions with these fights. He's hustling attention for cash like he's been doing for years. All boxers are entertainers. All boxers can use social media as a resource. All boxers have the potential to do something along the same lines as Jake. And this kid, he has trainers, he makes money fighting... making him a professional fighter. Some fighters start late in life, he may be decent won't know until he faces another professional boxer though....

Oscar De La Hoya still hasn't announced his comeback opponent for July. It should be Jake Paul. Yes he has! have you not heard? Here is the announcement: "De La Hoya announced he would be taking on the staff at the General Rehab Clinic on July 5th... Presently they are negotiating ring size and what gloves the Psych Nurses have to wear when chasing the Golden Boy."

Not really.. if you follow both sports you would know Askren was a good wrestler.. not very athletic and had laughable striking even by UFC standards He was like 1-2 in the UFC and holds the record of being Koed the fastest in UFC history (5 seconds) So maybe educate yourself before spouting BS People making this about Boxing versus MMA is ridiculous. Askren was in horrible shape, did not acquaint himself with any observable boxing skills... A few posters said it best, when initially thinking about Askren's pedigree, it was one thing... watching him box/train was wholly another. Boxers have done the same thing with MMA. Like Toney for example... Who knows how Askren thought he was going to win this fight... If he even tried to do so,

Cash out? By who? He is exploiting a gap in the boxing market. He makes more money outside of boxing. So not sure what’s to “Cash out” there. When really boxers are done playing politics and actually get in the ring and fight then this sort of gap would close. Great point.

I don't know, Jake can obviously fight and he's been picking up boxing very well. But he's slowly becoming a lottery ticket for a prospect, contender or champion to take advantage of whenever he decides to step up in the boxing game and fight world class opposition.

A 19-2 fighter with some good wins on his name just got laquered by a youtuber. Askren's career MMA earnings were 830k, he made 500k tonight, basically MMA is about to be dead. Yeah. It's pretty obvious the plan is to get a big cash out. ​​Only reason I was thinking of watching was to check out the Prograis fight. After hearing how it turned out . Glad I didn't.
