Who is walking away with their head high and their ass unmolested after a rumble?

Muscles don’t but strength does. I know it’s not the same but I’ve been out muscled more than once in BJJ by practitioners that weren’t as technically good as me.
Francis’ conditioning is terrible. All that muscles means he gasses bad. He was looking exhausted after the first round even though he was clearly trying to persevere his energy.
Jones fight will be interesting. My gut feeling is that Ngannou KOs him.
Thats fair, its a 55/45 fight for me. I see Jones outsmarting him and winning a tough match.
Jones alone for now.
But muscles don't equate to adequate wrestling. LOL I've learnt that myself the hard way. Ngannou has suspect cardio as well. As said, how many KO artists in either boxing or MMA tend to last that long. Both are martial arts, if KO power mattered so much then the current top end of the division wouldn't look the way it does. Its like fight fans never learn and the same lessons keep being taught.

you wanna take mike tyson down lmao. get close to his teeth? doubt it. kick him? sure do so as long as he has not closed the distance which will happen inside a second.
Lmao @ this. Yeah its so unthinkable that someone that extensively trains wrestlingmight actually be able to take down someone who has absolutely zero takedown defence. And of course Mike also somehow has the ability to close distance so fast that you cant even throw kicks at him, I mean he obviously trained the shit out of that specific skill back in the day....
MMA for all practical purposes didnt even exist when Mike was in his prime. He literally could not even conceive of an opponent that brought that kind of skillset. He was also small for a HW and a prime candidate to get kicked or kneed in the face.
A bare knuckle punch from Tyson on the streets? Takes about 10 seconds for him to connect on someone as unskilled as ngannou. and thats all it takes. fight over. Ngannou on the sidewalk Tyson eating his remains. seriously? you wanna take mike tyson down lmao. get close to his teeth? doubt it. kick him? sure do so as long as he has not closed the distance which will happen inside a second. Tyson takes this. He is one of the sicked psychos ever when things get heated.
What HW out there do you think could maul him? Ngannou has crazy natural strength is 260lb of muscles and seems to have a much better TDD.
Other than Jones who do you think would give him trouble?
Jones alone for now.

Not exactly. I'm yet to see what happens when he gets mauled. This is all entirely hypothetical though.

Freedom of speech
You said it yourself, TDD isn’t the hardest thing to learn. Ngannou doesn’t need to learn aggressive wrestling he wants to defend and keep things standing up.

So hes perfectly happy to go straight at Rozenstruik, Reem, JDS and Stipe but he all of a sudden barely throws a single punch vs Lewis, a guy who has been folded by the aformentioned JDS, an old Mark Hunt and even Meathead?
Nah, he was indeed oddly gunshy, it was one of the few truly suspect looking fights in UFC history. Lewis will get brutally knocked out in the first round in the rematch.
Yep and not one of those fighters have Lewis' one shot KO power. LOL why are you equating a chin with your ability to KO someone. Plenty of glass jawed heavy hitters. And, if anything, he was hardly gunning for Stipe in the second fight. The slow methodical approach was what we saw. Francis is aggressive, but he knows when not to march into a firefight.
Who cares, nothing personal but this is a low quality thread.
Anthony Joshua is bigger than Ngannou in Nigeria.

Nope.
That **** comes back to bite you in MMA. ALWAYS. Without fail.
An incomplete fighter with poor wrestling and poor ground game is a loss waiting to happen. This already happened with Ngannou back to back with Stipe and Lewis. Whilst I love the guys story and think he's a genuine good dude, I can honestly see the guy getting completely outclassed by Jon Jones. His TDD against Stipe was excellent but TDD isn't exactly the hardest thing to learn in wrestling. Agressive wrestling is where it really gets tricky and Ngannou is still lacking on that front. Its just that his KO power is so immense.
These Mike Tyson what if's are always funny. Because Mike Tyson wasn't even the best boxer in his era. He lost in his "prime" and out of it. I think its because people get too enamoured with KO artists. When, in reality, KO artists tend to get undone by skilled opponents all the time.

He wasn't oddly gunshy. This is the problem with MMA, the UFC spends so much time elevating fighters who barely have a 3 fight win streak that people end up completely ignoring fights on a resume. Ngannou feared Lewis' power. No fighter just stands there if they know they can get you out there with minimal effort.

The Lewis fight was just weird, it wasnt really anything to do with wrestling etc because they both have the same limitations but Ngannou is the heavier hitter and more athletic. He was just oddly gun shy that night in the face of another big puncher. Honestly it was arguably a shady situation, did not look right at all. I think he wins the rematch in typical highlight reel fashion though.
As for the Jones fight. I cant see it tbh. The Jones of the Reyes and Santos fights does not look like the Jones we saw handle DC. Maybe he'll be reinvigorated by the HW move and have a second wind, but if Frank catches him like Reyes and Santos did? hes going out. Hes never faced anyone remotely as hard hitting or strong as Ngannou is.
I expect him to have that belt for a while.

Boxing has the problem of putting too much on losses but, at the same time, UFC puts way too much on 1 or 2 wins. It's amusing to me the way people see to be completely discounting Lewis genuine KO threat. Probably down to how he looks.
TBF to Mike, I don't think 90s boxers need to be Mike Tyson good to beat up MMA's KO artists. ****ing Grant or some **** would wreck this guy.
<--- members when Rhonda could "punch"
<---- members when McGregor could "punch"
Oh, MMA selling yet another "puncher" KO Artist. I'll be skeptical.
The one thing Francis has that makes me interested in seeing if this dude's legit is his trainer is far more legitimate than Rousey's or Conor's. He's being taught how to punch by a man who actually boxed and kickboxed rather than a mug with some TMA cred he bought in the 80s, rolling cred, and that's it.
Boom. On the money. Every word.
MMA strikers tend to be fucking awful and that's coming from an MMA fighter. One thing of note is that I kinda feel MMA/UFC will showcase superb wrestlers, BJJ artists and judoka's, it will always lack premier strikers because the pay is so comparatively poor.
And it kinda speaks to the infancy of the sport that some of the absolutely shocking displays of pretty much everything you're taught not to do in the boxing ring are displayed constantly by top level MMA fighters.
Ngannou's striking is noticeably better though. Really enjoyed seeing his effective use of the jab and body work. Question is that could all end up being for nought if a solid wrestler figures him out.
Nope.

Thats because hes playing to his strengths, he still has those things in his skillset if he ever happens to encounter someone he cant brutally KO in seconds.
Nope.

Ngannou beats an old washed up Miocic and suddenly he's the baddest heavyweight who ever lived? Please.
Hes not (yet), but he wouldnt need to be the baddest HW ever to beat a 5'10 220lb pure boxer, even one at prime Tysons level, most high level MMA HWs would do it 9 times out of 10, the other one time being when the punchers chance works out for him.
I haven't seen Ngannou try to take anyone down, and he also doesn't use kicks much. I'll take Tyson due to good head movement, proper punch technique, and faster hands.
Plus Tyson is ruthless and fights dirty for fun
