It wouldn't happen at 160.
So you'd have to say Martinez at 154. Possibly with a weight clause at 152.
Bulls.hit aside. Let's just say 154lbs.
That's not Martinez's zone. He'd lose to Floyd there getting countered over the top of his jab.
Martinez wins. He was something else before Fat Pothead Zombie Jr wrecked his knee.
This
If slow ass Judah stunned and knocked down Floyd imagine what Martines would have done.
You're crazy. Judah was just as fast as floyd in those days and floyd was counter punching pac man with ease. That's not regular hand speed
lol. this is a comedy. floyd was too scared to fight any threat and you want to imagine floyd fighting a big threat opponent. This is like saying what if a pig can fly.
duran was not naturally bigger than floyd mayweather!! hello? the lights are on and you are typing, but is anyone really home?
duran started his career as a bantamweight in panama! he was 119 lbs. he was lightweigth champion of the world for seven years. he moved up to welterweight ten years later for the money, and later to middleweight, for the money and also for the buffet tables in las vegas. gives up half a foot in reach to mayweather. when duran lost in his prime to dejesus he was 137 lbs the morning of the fight, and at that weight he was horribly out of shape. in floyd's prime, when he was in serious financial trouble and facing an irs lean, he missed weight and came in at 146 lbs against marquez. they actually tried to strongarm marquez' people and the athletic commission on this on the week of the fight, after contracts were signed at 144. floyd was not quite the cash cow he is today, and the commission wouldn't budge. if he'd been an oz over the 2 lbs overweight he was he'd have been fined an extra 400k on top of the 6. if he was 1 more lb past that he'd have been fined 20% of his purse. they made a financial decision to miss weight and lose money in a time when floyd was broke because it was too much on his body to go below 146 lbs the day prior. duran was 145 the day of against leonard. floyd is smaller doe.
anyone going through mental gymnastics to say that floyd mayweather had a tougher run or fought better competition than roberto duran needs to stop and take a really long look in the mirror and confront your dishonesty as a man. same thing regarding their sizes. a shorter man with half a foot less in reach who campaigned as low as 119 lbs and was a lightweight on a same day weigh in for 7 years of his prime is smaller that floyd mayweather.
Lol calm down bro I never knew Duran started at bantamweight until this forum pointed it out.
at that time, I remember thinking only two guys could give Floyd trouble
Lara and Sergio Martinez
but Floyd wasnt ever going to fight those guys
Lara vs Floyd would be like watching a 400m relay race lol.
154 Floyd takes it.
A healthy Sergio @ 160 with his knees intact I think Sergio despite not being a physical fighter is just too big.
Floyds really only a WW
But Duran didn’t start as a pro at super featherweight either tho he was naturally bigger than Floyd.

There's a reason the fight never happened.
Sergio would've had to come forward and he liked to counter-punch. Floyd would've done a lot of pot-shotting and clinching to be honest.
Tough to envision a Sergio win because even if he landed something Floyd showed he had a real deal chin. And Sergio never really put punches together...he would land 1 big shot and move himself. Aside from 1 punch KO I can't see Sergio beating Floyd in a decision...and Floyd isn't Paul Williams so he won't be getting clipped like that.
Floyd UD 8-4ish...but there's a reason the fight never happened.
8-4 type of UD for Floyd. Floyd was too fast, too smart, too defensively sound, too agile, and all around better than Martinez in every category but power. Sergio never faced anyone the caliber of Floyd. Cotto would've knocked him out when he had good knees. There's levels and Martinez is well below Floyd and even Cotto. The size wouldn't help someone trying to outbox Floyd and not really using the size advantage. His length wouldn't help as much either since he wasn't really fast. He would've been pull countered all night.
Red right back at you .You crybaby man chowder slurping phaqqot.

The Martinez that Cotto beat was damaged goods. His knees were so messed up that he could barely even move much in the ring.
At some point, a guy will just be too big. Conor was almost too big (granted Floyd was 40). Martinez at 160 would surely be the favorite. Floyd was great but he never had to take risks like that once he moved up in weight. People were more willing to pay more money to see him fight less risky fights, on his own terms. Fun fight to think about.
How many boxers that competed at 130lbs went for a 160lb title? Oscar is the only one I can think of. Oscar is naturally bigger than Floyd and he had to rob Sturm for his belt. Oscar then got stopped by Hopkins. 5 divisions is better than most boxers, :dunce:. Why didn't Martinez become a 5 division champ? Challenge doe... :dunce:.
Because he started at 154 and it's a lot harder to win titles in multiple divisions when you start higher up.
For Martinez, that would have meant winning titles at 154, 160, 168, 175 and cruiserweight.
The only top guys I can think of who even competed in all of those divisions are: Thomas Hearns, James Toney, and Roy Jones Jr.
I'm sure there might be more but my point is that it's much easier to jump divisions when you start lower.
But Duran didn’t start as a pro at super featherweight either tho he was naturally bigger than Floyd.
Did you read my previous post Duran weighed 132 to win the title back in the 70’s when it was same day weigh in . By today’s Standards Duran would have been champ at Featherweight first because we all know a Featherweight is fighting at 135 to 140 by fight day Duran didn’t have this luxury like fighters today who weigh in 1 or 2 days before the fight
Martinez had a bum knee Floyd was afraid to take the risk to bad for him that’s why I have Robert Duran ranked above Mayweather he took the risk twice at Middleweight beating Barkley to become Middleweight Champ and almost beat Haglar
But Duran didn’t start as a pro at super featherweight either tho he was naturally bigger than Floyd.
