Paul Williams was 6'2 and threw the most punches per round in boxing when he fought. Stylistically he's hell of anybody at welterweight.
Am I the only person who thought that had he and Mayweather fought he would have won?
He also would have beaten Pacquiao easily
IDK why people ride them at all, had an uncle who lost his leg on one, and an ex her brother died at 23 on one.
i mean never ridden one but i can see the attraction of the bike, adrenaline junkies maybe a bit
but u are at the mercy of other people mistakes even small ones
maybe the safer ones just ride the bike like they might drive a car straight lines not much over taking little or no risks lots of reflective gear idk really
i still feel bad about the punisher i mean motor bikes at speed can be so dangerous over taking and a car moves out i think thats what happened in this case and he took evasive action and ended up off road and off bike i read somewhere a witness said he was folded like a deck chair on landing
Of course Paul Williams had a shot at getting a decision on Mayweather. That's why Mayweather fake retired for two years after Hatton because Williams Margarito prime Cotto, etc was up next. All those guys especially Margarito and Williams, were better than average prime fighters who wouldn't be fazed by Floyds punch and could hit him back. Floyd don't want that.
Well, beating floyd has been done, but whether you get the decision or robbed is another topic altogether.
Who really thinks Floyd's unbeaten? Marciano is unbeaten, as is calzaghe and ottke even. I guess some think Hopkins beat Calzaghe, but at least Calzaghe was in Hopkins backyard.
I was gonna make a new thread about this but decided to search first. I think Paul would've been a stylistic nightmare for Floyd. Naysayers will always point out Paul's worst fights but those were against bigger fighters and all southpaws. Floyd would've had a hell of a time trying to slow Paul down and he didn't have the power to hurt him.

You're the only one who wholeheartedly thinks that... The rest are just Mayhaters...
Mayweather would murder PWill ala Maravilla...
They were both punching bags. And every person that Mayweather fought threw less punches than what they averaged. As brittle as Floyd’s hands were they seemed to hold up over a 20 year career.
Great. He still never beat them though did he? Or did he retire in 2007 after saying “I’m not trying to fight no welterweights”.? Floyd’s words not mine.
You do know Margarito and Williams fought each other throwing over 1500 punches right? They definitely had the stamina as both were high volume punchers.
And neither had a bruise after the fight what does that tell you.

No they didn’t. Those 2 benefited more from not fighting Floyd than they ever did if they would’ve lost. Which we all know they would’ve.

And? Floyd has brittle hands. Margarito and Williams had stamina to match Floyd punch for punch. There’s a reason why he didn’t want to fight in 08.

Win, lose or draw - Floyd isn't getting out of a Williams or Margarito fight unscathed, that kind of activity coming at Floyd brings that tension. Two great fights I wish I could have seen!
A southpaw throwing volume with the kind of variety Williams has limits where Floyd can go for defense, he would have to be on his bike...fighting off the shoulder or off the ropes would be a lot tougher; changing levels may not always be the option, Williams can come from underneath with uppercuts ....Quintana maybe not the best measuring stick to use for Floyd, although he did show a good plan for Williams...Carlos was pretty tall himself maybe like 5'9'-5'10" IIRC, southpaw. Lara southpaw, Martinez southpaw
Williams avenged the Quintana loss, it was a complete turnaround from the bad outing in the first fight so he could make adjustments to improve fight-to-fight; - fighting in 3 weight classes, he was/is awesome...wish he got made it to the scheduled Canelo fight too. Big loss for boxing , War Paul!!

Honestly I think Paul Williams would have been a tougher matchup for Floyd than Margarito. Margarito was able to wear down Miguel Cotto but Cotto never had the late-round stamina that Floyd had. I think Mayweather potshots him and a lot depends on how the fight is officiated.
As for Paul Williams, yes Carlos Quintana was a southpaw but as others have stated: Paul Williams did not use his height at all. He applied pressure and that would expose him to accurate counterpunching.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying he couldn't win. It's just that Williams had a leaky defense and I don't know that he could beat Floyd with heart and volume punching alone.
Every fighter with hand speed gave Margarito problems. He even struggled with Cotto’s hand speed until he stopped him. A shot Mosley toyed with him for 9 rounds then stopped him.
