I think it's only fitting that he should vacate the WBC title if he is not going to defend it against Deontay Wilder or Dillian Whyte. I believe that Wilder should drop his suit against Fury and just request that he relinquishes that WBC title belt in exchange or return. I think that's a fair compromise. He entered title less and then he should exit title less.
He should of dropped the suit he wore to the ring cuz his likkle leggys may not of hurty hurt so much.
Drop the belt lol, fekk off.
Facts are there is no such thing as a lineal belt. Doesn't exist and you cant win it. That's just boxing jargon. He wasn't chasing a lineal belt on his way up the ranks
Robert Easter Jr has more title defenses than Fury lol
Fury has defended his lineal title multiple times.
But yeah, a few defences of the belts would help his legacy, but if he beats AJ he's the best HW of this era hands down.
Fury is just a great white hope I cant wait till he gets KOd. He needed Wilder to prove he was great. Now you same people are saying Wilder is a bum and needs to retire? It goes both ways man

That's fair on the FOTY, yes it is, and yes both those performances are impressive. About 1/3 the HW champs become FOTY twice or more.
The x2 champ though is less so. He won both of his two title fights and got stripped between them for sitting on ass. No, no one ever did that before. Plenty have more than two title fights though. That's the one that's a bit Pacish because it's alone but it's also a bit of semantics. Especially from a lot who talks so much about never losing X in the ring.
FOTY x2 or more:
Louis
Marciano
Charles
Patterson
Johanson
Ali
Frazier
Foreman
Tyson
Holyfield
Defences are obviously important, that’s why we rate guys like Louis so highly cause he consistently beat top 10 guys.
One reason I consider winning the Ring title twice impressive though is it means you beat the #1 in the division twice, or were the #1 and beat the #2 in the division twice. Defences generally won’t come against the #2 guy, in the modern era they regularly don’t even come against a top 15 guy.
I do agree Fury needs to add at least a few defences to his resume before he retires though if he wants to be compared to the greats historically.
Defences are about context I think. For example Wladimir defended the ring belt against absolute scrubs like Leapai, an old Mormeck, Pianeta, Wach etc. On paper they count the same as Ali’s defences against Patterson, Norton, Frazier etc.
In the modern era I feel defences have lost prestige as they can be a against some real sh**ty fighters. As we were saying the other day, look at some of the mandatories Wlad had during his reign, just complete trash.
Any idea if he displays his lesser titles in another case? I quite like the BBBoC, commonwealth, and EBU belts. Historically respectable. Guys like Langford, Godfrey, Gains, you know, dudes who probably would have been world champ if the world champ fought them.
If there is any pretense title that bugs me being a pretense title it's the BE titles. Especially Langford. If I was Fury I'd be proud to hold both Langford and Johnson's titles. That's pretty ****ing cool.
I'm not sure tbh, I know he used to keep the IBF hidden in a draw at the bottom.
Agreed.
I hope Bob makes sure that's it's a fair fight. We all know that AJ is usually allowed to call his own breaks.
That referee in the first Ruiz fight didn't get the memo that Joshua is allowed to hang out and rest on the ropes as long as he wants after a knockdown and 8 count.

Thanks for the info March, very interesting.
If you’d have told me the clumsy kid who punched himself in the face on ITV would achieve what he’s achieved I’d have said you’re the biggest fool on the planet.
Fair play to Tyson, he’s done amazing to achieve what he has.
We're praising Fury for being stripped now?
Plenty have won more than two fighter of the years from ring. Plenty have won more than two ring title fights.
Kinda like Pac's 8 divisions innit?
Heavyweights? It’s only Fury and Ali. Maybe Patterson did it as well, I’m not 100% sure though.
If in the 100 year history of the ring only two maybe 3 have done it, it has to be impressive, no?
Can you blame him?
If someone called me a cheat without any evidence, i wouldn't want to give them a payday either.
Wilder only has himself to blame for this situation.Fine, Tyson Fury can do whatever he wants. Let him fight Anthony Joshua. However, he shouldn't be allowed to take the WBC title with him without giving Deontay Wilder his trilogy bout first.
