Make The Ring belt the only world title and rename it as World Title.
Get Hearn to buy into Ring Magazine with Oscar and keep it within DAZN for 10 years. Work with local boards and commissions across all countries to ensure standardized PED testing for all licenced fighters.
Unify as many alphabet titles as possible over time only on DAZN (a few years) and then immediately vacate them all which makes them paper titles and not recognised by fans and media.
Eventually all the titles held hostage on other networks will have been moved to DAZN through unification.
Make the champion defend their title once every 6 months or lose it.
With this plan you maintain the lineage of all four sanctioning bodies unified under one World Title but you only ever get one champ per division.
After 10 years all belts will be condensed into one title.
It sounds like Eddie Hearn's takeover plan. It'll never happen.
And while I'm at it, none of the belts are legit, NONE, same goes for websites like that one with so many capital letters. Ring is **** too.
I don't even know why a real boxing fan would need to be told who the real champ is of the divisions they follow.
We don't need any belts.
The idea of having 4 or 5 belts and multiple number of categories is simply idiotic. It kills boxing.
But it demonstrably works. As a business at least.
They all go on about it being bad for the sport, but how many Champions are willing to throw their belts in the bin?
It will take a commercial collapse of boxing for any change to come about.
At that point someone would have the great idea of putting it all under one organisation and it would prosper for a while.
But while promoters are all making money, the current system stays. If COVID didn't break it, then I'm not sure what will.
The problem is that promoters wont really benefit from that (short term) because they have incentives to remain status quo.
At the end of the day it's easier to promote someone who holds a belt than someone who doesnt. Promoting a card with "3 title fights on the card" still is a selling point.
If it's back down to 1 belt, it becomes much more difficult for a promoter to navigate their fighters to become champions.
