Why does GGG continue to get a pass for blatant cherrypicking?

That isn't an excuse, GGG didn't step up and have tough fights until he was 35. Real ATG's like Floyd, Manny, etc have been fighting tough opposition since they were in there early 20's. GGG fought who'd fight him at 160. It's not his fault, Canelo, Cotto, Martinez, Jacobs, Quillin, and all the other 160 players ducked him and it took Kell Brook to step up and prove he was human before they wanted it. Floyd wasn't a huge puncher, he was a boxer, and spent the 2nd half of his career cherrypicking his opponents. Manny was lucky to have willing dance partners like Morales, Marquez, & Barrera and was lucky that Oscar cherry picked him. And even still, it took 6 years for him to get Floyd in the ring. Some guys, especially insane punchers like GGG, Deontay Wilder, Luis Ortiz, or guys who are really slick like Erislandy Lara & Demetrius Andrade will always have trouble making big fights, especially if they're foreigners. If GGG was American or Mexican, guys wouldn't have been able to avoid him as long as they did.

He's 39. It's the same reason Manny hasn't fought or defended his belt in almost 2 years and most people don't really care. Personally, I have a lot of respect for GGG & Manny, but they gotta either defend those belts against top competition or let them go. Canela ducked Derevyanchenko and dropped the IBF belt, so Golovkin fought him for the vacant title, since it was vacant GGG had to make a straight defence which was about to happen sometime in February of 2020, Szeremeta was a mandatory challenger who won a final eliminator on the same card as Golovkin-Derevyanchenko

If you meant getting a pass in the media as a whole then I agree. He should be unifying with Andrade, just to strengthen his 160 ownage.

Because the only person he lost to was Canelo. He should really be trying to fight the best but he’s back to being a typical euro fighter (he’s not technically euro but may as well call him Proska)

GGG fans are trying to preserve him for a fight that will never happen. yeah...at this point it looks like a longshot...if you read the tea leaves.... the kicker though? if canelo doesnt give him the 3rd fight theyll say canelo is scared....if he were to sign it would turn into "yeah figures he signs golovkin is 39 now and hes old"
