Earnie Shavers was a very small HW compared to everyone you mentioned. Wilder is fighting in an era of giants. Fury is 6’9”, Washington is 6’6”, Duhaupus is 6’5”. Shavers was 6’. It’s fine to big up the older fighters of decades ago but let’s not exaggerate. Size comes to play even at HW. For example if Fury was the same size and height as Wilder, would he have had the same success? Anyway, I think Tyson Fury is a top 10 P4P fighter vs anyone. He’s very skilled regardless of size. He comes in to win. He beat Wlad at his own game, he mauled Wilder, and I think he will do good on his word of stopping Joshua. He’s def the best HW of his era. Mike Tyson wasn't even that he was probably 5'9/5'10 at best and hit way harder than most of these giants of today. Joe Louis was barely 6ft yet he would be a huge puncher in any era. He also knocked out giants and giant punchers Povetkin is 6ft & he's done alright. David Tua was around 5ft10 Shavers may have been only 6'0/6'1 but that guy hit like a mule. His punches sounded like gunshots. He was displaying his power against the greatest HWs in history with the greatest chins in history all of which said they had never been hit so hard before. Who has Wilder shown his power vs really? Sure the guy can really crack but the hardest puncher in history based on him knocking out two 40yr olds twice and 34 or so journeymen level fighters? Fury is the best of this era for sure unless he takes an L vs AJ He is skilled and all that and full credit for beating Wladimir, a great champion but Wilder? This guy was always an accident waiting too happen. He gets outboxed every other fight! I like Fury a lot and I'm not a big fan of Teo or Loma but how can we seriously act like this puncher that's wobbling all over the shop cause his coordination is so awful is a better win than outboxing a boxing wizard like Loma?

The guy was comprehensively outboxed by Artur Szpilka. He was getting outboxed by Washington. He took 10-11 rounds to rid Duhaupas who he hit with the kitchen sink. Can you imagine him standing up to a Foreman, Wladimir, Lewis, Shavers & so ons shots like that? Me neither! He lost every single round to a 40yr old Ortiz he didn't land that right hand in. It was only a matter of time before his power didn't bail him out or someone had enough savvy to take his right hand away from him. Almost everyone this so called hardest puncher in boxing history has ever beaten has been beaten and usually multiple times in much better fashion. Loma is ten times more skilled than Wilder, has accomplished a lot more and beaten far better opposition. 10 defenses? He was gifted one vs Fury, 2 was vs a 40yr old who was winning every moment of every round outside of the knockdowns and the rest were total bums. Lomachenko was a 3 weight world champion & unified the division and had made just as many if not more defenses of his titles vs much better opposition. An old Klitchko. Wilder would ko a prime Klitchko tbh. Wlad ducked punchers for a reason. Ducked punchers? He fought a peak undefeated AJ, Peter twice, Haye, an undefeated Povetkin, Rahman, Brewster, Sanders Granted a few stopped him but he certainly fought a fair share of punchers.

So how does Joe Louis rank so high as a champion with his 'bum of the month club'? ..........Rockin':boxing: His bum of the month club has little baring on his overall ranking but even then he was fighting very regular mainly against top 5 fighters unlike Wilder fighting 2-3 times a year vs opposition likely not even top 30. I'd be surprised if half or more was in fact top 50

I agree Commey should have been undefeated coming into that fight. And he layed him tf out... Add that with upsetting Loma and it's not close to Fury beating Wilder who ain't a P4P fighter

Easily Fury over Lopez Most of the people on here calling Wilder a bum picked him to spark Fury out. Lopez had a great win but it was a close fight.

I got Fury over teo So do I... Won more impressively and far more decisively. I don’t have an issue with Teofimo winning it either though tbf. Beating Loma was a very impressive win too.

He reigned for 6 years or whatever and never (some through no fault of his own) he didn't fight Whyte, AJ, Wladimir, Povetkin or Parker. Instead he was making defenses against Braezele, Szpilka, Eric Molina all of which showed his extreme vulnerabilities. Chris Arreola in like 2017 or something like are you serious? He only reigned as long as he did because he didn't fight the top guys. Even Fury was a cherrypick one that went horribly wrong. The only reason he fought Fury was because they thought he was completely done.

When you describe him as ' a guy who can't box' instead of perhaps the hardest puncher in boxing history making the 10th or 11th defense of his wbc title in the 5th year of his reign Then its not really a good argument. Wilder turns the switch off on everyone he fought except fury. Both teos win and furys win are atg hof wins That just says more about the division/his competition level than anything. An aging Stiverne went the distance with him also! I don't even have a response for the latter.
