So why did his "power" disappear? It didn't disappear, except for Mayorga and Cherifi, the guys he later fought after a series of retirements, were,as well as having excellent chins, like Hopkins and Wright, seasoned champions, he was lucky with Joppy because Joppy was too aggressive and left himself wide open. and once he went down, never recovered. He was not a top champ average good but not a great fighter like Trinidad. Look who he lost to, Hopkins, the champion foul master, who was a light heavy masquerading as a middleweight, and with a glove on his head, Winky Wright, who had the most impenetrable defence, and Roy Jones, for goodness sake, at 170 lbs. He actually retired after the Hopkins fight, and returned to KO Cherifi who was a 3 time WBC and WBA champ, then retired again. Then unretired for Wright and retired again, and a few years later came the Jones fight. So he really had a great career.

That wrap is Illegal in most states, not illegal in LasVegas. Exactly the same method Canelo uses. Don’t be embarrassed though, Abel Sanchez didn’t know that either. Look it up if you wish. I just read that Nazeem Richardson, commenting about the New York fight and the hand-wrap controversy, said that there was nothing wrong, it was just that Trinidad's wrap was not legal in New York although legal in many other states. In another comment he said that it was just in New York they were not legal, that Trinidad was not trying to take an advantage. And this same conclusion was come to by the New York Boxing Commission who had a meeting about it after, that Trinidad was NOT trying to take an unfair advantage with the hand wraps. But you know, on BoxingScene there are many very ignorant posters who really know nothing about anything except what their minds are happy with.

I only recall Trinidad throwing 2 (likely intentional) low blows in all the fights I saw him in.,

This is a good post. The kid is still largely unproven. If they were the same weight, Trinidad would mash him up and swallow him down with no effort at all. Of course he has lots of time to get better and likely will. But too much hype already, he should not open his mouth so much so loudly, let him wait until it's really there. Both arguably hit harder than Campbell, Stephens definitely does. If Stephens (not Stephans) landed the shot on Garcia that Campbell landed he ain’t getting back up. Sorry but just no way. Tito at 22 years old was already fighting guys with 53-0 records with like 50KOs. The dude had balls you don't get on today's fighters. That goes for the entire crop of new blood, not just Ryan. They're fragile. Built with the mentality and fear of losing their "0". Part social media, part Fraud Jr. creating these false beliefs. Losing your "0" should not matter of who you are as a quality fighter. Keeping your "0" should be red flags all over the place. I can't for the life of me fathom why fans care so much about it and in in part lose out on better matchups because of crappier match making for "0" fighter.

Haters are questioning Ryan chin after being knocked down for the first time in his career but seem to forget the grit the kid showed to get back up and finish Campbell off. Honestly, Ryan’s demeanor reminded me so much of Tito Trinidad. People seem to forget that Tito was dropped multiple times earlier in his career but always got up more determined to finish off his opponent. Ryan showed that same grit this past Saturday, he didn’t play it safe after the knocked down but continued to throw bombs at Campbell. The kid has heart and made a fan out of me with his performance once he shores up that defense he’ll be ready for anyone @ 135. Garcia obviously has a long way to go before we make that comparison, however I understand the similarity as far as getting off the floor to stop your opponent.

Trinidads power vanished as soon as he couldn't load his gloves. Didn't load his gloves he just had them wrapped in a way that is legal in Las Vegas and Texas, not unlike other notables. Tito's power diminished at higher weight classes, as expected.
