Campbell should of rushed at Garcia 'Straight after the knock down'.
It was quite a heavy knock down in my opinion.
Head down, rush forward with straight punches.
the way he reacts defensively tho reminds me a little bit of khan
Yep. Plus tall, skinny, upright, chin in the air, fast hands, weak chin. Definitely similarities to Khan.
Everyone keeps going on about his bad footwork but he is good at cutting off the ring
Hes flat footed. He cut off the ring cause he was 100% SAFE to do so. Cambell NEVER pressed the fight. Hes a PURE. Counter puncher and that aint a good thing.
This might be the most important thing at the moment. Canelos team has developed canelo extremely well considering dude basically had no amateur career.
On top of that being in camp and training with the p4p best fighter has to build up some mental toughness and confidence on some degree
Im rooting for the kid. He will be good for the sport.
Sometimes but the kid has a very solid team around him.

I don't know if he was good, he was just the #1 contender for a vacant belt. I looked up his BoxRec. Over the past 3 1/2 years, he's 3-3 in his last 6 fights with his victories coming over Troy James (never heard of him until today), Adrian Yung (never heard of him until today), and Yvan Mendy (I've heard of Yvan at least, Yvan was the first to beat and expose Luke).
But after Lomachenko beat Campbell you immediately texted me (you woke me up btw) and said Lomachenko is the truth and that beating Campbell cemented his HOF spot. You also said Lomachenko at 130-140 would be too much for Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Nobody said a damn thing about swinging wildly. How about swinging period. He fought that fight like a sparring partner that wanted to get called back.
I saw him throwing lefts to the head and body throughout the fight but to each his own.
If by quitting you mean trying to set up his attack instead of swinging wildly then yes, he "quit" after taking the lead with an early and unexpected knockdown in the fight of his life.
I'm sure Campbell said:
"You know what? I know I could become a hero back home if I score this upset but I think I'll let Ryan hang around until the 7th round. Then I'll let him stop me with a body shot"
Yeah, the fix was definitely in.....

So his strategy was to quit. Got it.

I swear, when this guy steps up competition for his next fight, he will get badly hurt.
Kinda remind me when Ortiz fought Maidana and Berto.
Ryan Garcia could get hurt because of his defensive flaws, however he also sacrifices defense for offense because he has fight-changing speed and power.
It's definitely a high-wire act and I'm curious to see how his career progresses.
Ryan came back throwing bombs and it's not like he was stumbling around the ring. He was dazed a bit but far from finished, also Garcia has the faster hands and Campbell didn't wanna get reckless.

I don’t care what a Campbell was ranked he looked like a guy there for a check. If someone told me he threw that fight I would’ve believed them. The man had Ryan hurt and didn’t throw another punch for over a minute.

I take it you aren't a fan :lol1:
The kid is very annoying but he brings eyes to the sport.
I think Tank, Loma or Lopez beat him up.
Haney is a good fight I would like to see
Of Andrade, no, not at all.
Of Ryan Garcia, yes. He has my support. I like that he is calling out the best and not talking about “speak to my promoter” when asked who he wants. I’m actually disappointed at boxing fans writing him off and comparing him to Ortiz and Khan.
Another way you can look at it is imagine if NSB was around in 1996-1999 when Pacquiao was stopped by Torrecampo and Sangsurat. Imagine everyone saying things like, “as soon as he steps up to higher levels, he’s done.” “He needs to stay away from Morales, MAB, JMM, Marquez, Chris John, Hamed, etc.” “Pacquiao isn’t going to amount to anything with that chin”. If you say those things now, in hindsight, you would look like you’re completely clueless about boxing and can’t tell what good skills/great potential is when you see it.
I think many fans write off boxers too quickly, especially those who step up and want to fight the best. And especially in the internet age.
You have 33 year old Andrade, who in the only fight where he stepped up vs Vanes, he was knocked down with a hard left hook. Yet he is the boogeyman of GGG, Canelo, Charlo, Saunders, etc. They treat Andrade like he is some great veteran who’s been tested at the top level. When in reality the 22 year old Ryan Garcia actually already has an equal resume to Andrade. But no one is comparing Andrade to Victor Ortiz or Amir Khan.
Maybe Ryan should just stick to fighting bums, looking spectacular, so that fans can get hyped up about him and make him the boogeyman of 135-140.

Not victor ortiz but maybe more Ivan Drago from Rocky LOL. The kid did good. He’s got work to do though. He gets hit too much. More defense and please teach that boy foot work.
