Porter says he's not interested in a rematch with Thurman and he won't fight young undefeated fighters who haven't proven themselves.
Porter: "There's guys that just have not earned the right to be in the ring with me, and I am not going to take a step back and get into the ring with them."
Porter can fight Crawford. But he won't take a million and won't enforce his mando slot cuz that would likely gain him even less money.
So he would rather not fight then earn a million and a chance to win a world title against an opponent he claims he can beat.
Why don't Porter and the PBC enforce the mando and take it to purse bids if they ain't happy with the money? Sounds like they want to complain at a million while at the same time wanting to pay him not a dime themselves.
Does Porter really think he has any leverage to be demanding big fights? This guy has an awful style to watch and a small fan base.
He is a Derek Chisora type fighter, he will get opportunities because? He works fighters over, and produces exciting fights. But he is speaking as if he 'Is a current world champion'.
What he should be doing is eliminating the other competition that are gunning for Spence, Crawford and Manny or putting himself in position to be a mandatory. The less you fight the more irrelevant you become.
Normally I'd be scornful of comments like these, but realistically, who else is there that's worth his while? I'm a little surprised that he doesn't want to avenge his defeat to Thurman, seeing as how close it was the first time, but Thurman has slid, and while that makes winning the rematch more likely for Porter it also means that the matchup's less likely to draw interest.
He can move up and fight charlo at 154 for all the belts if no pac, bud, Spence.
Pbc has way to many options for him to ride the bench for a year. Mikey Garcia may even be available
If not TC Id like to see him fight Manny thats an all action fight, dont wanna see Spence rematch, maybe Thurman be ok would see where he at after loss and more surgeries.
