What fighter can you remember that has received more favorable judging than Canelo? He lost the Mayweather fight 11-1. He got completely schooled yet one of the judges had him tied on the card. Was he blind? Then in the GGG fight where he lost 8-4/9-3, he got a 10-2 card in his favor. Literally the most inexplicable score in history. In the GGG fight #2, he wins a fight he lost 7-5. The media members who watched the fight had it in GGG's favor by a wide margin. 40 of them scored the bout for GGG, just 2 for Canelo, and 17 had it a draw. Only 2 out of 51 media members had Canelo winning that fight while 2 out of 3 judges had him. https://www.reddit.com/r/Boxing/comments/9g88mo/spoilers_canelo_vs_ggg_media_scorecards/
Can you remember a fighter who had it better? Maybe JCC Sr? SRL? ODLH?
And the reverse of that is Emmanuel Augustus. The most robbed fighter in history.
Remember he was putting it on Floyd when the fight was stopped on a bull**** cut.

Lol its definitely Canelo. At least one of the judges cards is filled out in his favour before the fight starts
Why does Oscar keep getting brought up? I can only think of one controversial win he got (Sweet Pea) and a bunch of controversial L's he took.
Agreed on Leonard though. Especially the second Hearns fight. Yeesh
Never watched his fight with Felix Sturm then clearly.
Ike Quartey you could argue he lost.
You are a weird fan, demented probably. Let me break it down for you and use simple little words.
Boxing is measured in the ability to hit and not get hit. Everything else is secondary including ring generalship, effective aggression, output, charisma, etc. That stuff all matters too but it comes AFTER the ability to HIT and NOT GET HIT.
That is how fights are scored.
That is why 1st Canelo GGG fight was a draw because GGG had piss poor offense and Canelo had strong defense. It is also why there is a cult following saying GGG "won" the 1st fight. Ardent fans/Trump supporters will look at 3 or 4 rounds and induce thats how the whole fight went. The truth is GGG chased Canelo and Canelo made him miss in more rounds than not.
Second fight was exactly that, a fight. And Canelo beat Borat to the punch. You cite Steve Weisfeld and he's literally one of the judges who awarded Ca$hnelo the fight.
You're too stupid to understand the distinction - the Weisfeld article highlights how everyone is supposed to score fights. It is obvious.
I don't say that Weisfeld is a perfect judge - or more importantly - that he isn't as corrupt as the next judge, in certain fights.
He has to be. If the judges/commissions don't give Canelo every W they can, and he has 10 losses right now, then how else can they expect Canelo's dumb superfans to support him so strongly, and spend all their money to support and finance the sport?
You fools keep their pockets greased lol. And helped to grease GGG's too, so I'm sure he appreciates that very much.
---------
I do find it hilarious when dumb people try to be smart though. You're too much of an idiot to realize that my position on Weisfeld isn't inconsistent.
On the other hand, you're touting his score in Canelo-GGG 2, but also saying that he doesn't know how to score fights!!!! lol man some people are so dumb, and have no idea how dumb they really are. It is really funny.
You don't give a guy credit for missing punches. That goes both ways. You give a guy credit for landing punches. It's honestly really sad for me to have seen so many people changing their scoring criteria, for those 2 fights, and just fights in general.
They try and find anything their guy did well, or that the other guy didn't do, to try and justify a win/loss. Instead of just watching the fight and scoring the action for the better man on the night. Really a sad state of affairs and a look into the psyche of people.

Wrong.
If Boxer A throws 30 punches, like Borat, and lands zero and Boxer B throws 0 punches and lands zero. Boxer B wins the round.
Boxer A and Boxer B both did not get hit but Boxer A demonstrated ineffective aggression and 0% accuracy while Boxer B did not punch at all and instead used his defense.
Boxer B, aka Ca$hnelo styled all over Borat girllllllll
Oh, don't tell me. Those were the words of Steve Weisfeld, who was just telling you there how he, and every other judge he knows, scores fights.
https://www.premierboxingchampions.com/news/veteran-boxing-judge-steve-weisfeld-offers-tips-how-score-fight
"A lot of times fans hear that judges focus on four categories: clean punches, effective aggressiveness, defense and ring generalship," Weisfeld said. "But based upon my own experience, my conversations with other judges and seminars conducted by top judges, judges really focus on one category, and that's clean punches."
Man, you just owned yourself really bad.
A lot of times fans hear that judges focus on four categories: clean punches, effective aggressiveness, defense and ring generalship. But judges really focus on one category, and that's clean punches.
Defense: Defense is important because it helps a boxer set up his offense. Most judges do not give credit for defense alone. If a boxer has a good defense, it means that he is not being hit with punches. But let's remember the purpose of the sport: to land punches on your opponent.
If Boxer A throws 10 punches in a round, but lands none of them, and Boxer B lands zero and throws zero, you still have an even round with no punches landing. You don't want to create a disincentive for a boxer to land punches if he thinks he's going to be penalized for missing.

You rant and whine about "outlanding" but cant tell the difference between pitter-patter punches and quality punches. Can you differentiate between jabs and power punches ??
Also, defense is one of the scoring criteria by judges. Without throwing 1 single punch Canelo won the 40 second exchange despite Borat outworking and outlanding.
You are so simple :rofl::rofl::rofl:

It's honestly crazy how heavily favoured Canelo is by the judges. Against Golovkin X2, Trout, Lara and Mayweather he's been the beneficiary of sus cards, and that's just what's coming to mind at this moment.
The real answer to this thread is obviously Freddie Flintoff though. He got humiliated by that fat yank they bussed in for him to fight and was flailing all over the ring like a gibbon with motor neurone disease only for him to get what must be the most generous gift decision win I've ever seen.
Amongst actual real fighters, I think JCC (Senior) deserves special mention for that disgraceful draw decision against Pernell Whitaker. There's an argument to be made against Leonard as well for the Hearns rematch and the Hagler fight, though I do think he won the latter (one scorecard was way too wide though.) Ultimately though I can only really think of certain fighters with sporadic cases of judge favouring - most with long enough careers typically end up having some bad luck to go along with the good that basically cancels everything out. Canelo's really the only one I can think of where there's a consistent pattern to him benefitting from bad scorecards.
Please you all listen to Marquez whine everytime he loses. He did the same when he fought Bradley too. The 3rd fight maybe. The first two no.
Throw in the fact that in the 1st fight, one judge scored the kd incorrectly with 10-7 instead of 10-6! That 1 point wouldve given Pac the win.
Ya. Here's about 40 of Borat's punches against Canelo...man did Borat outwork Canelo.
STUNNING OUTPUT !! HOW EFFECTIVE. Shame Canelo RAN instead of standing still and laughing at Borat LMFAO

Hard to think of anyone who's consistently gotten edges with the judges like Canelo had.
I think among the top also rans would be Jesse Vargas. I got his ass having 4 or 5 more losses than he officially got thanks to judges.
Canelo by far. Hands down.
That advantage may be over now that he isnt with Golden Boy anymore, or is he I havent really kept up. Its been made clear in the past though you would have to stop him to beat him.
It will be interesting to see what happens in his fights now, with the judges. This one being in TX will be interesting too.
I wouldn’t agree with Ward
I do think Kovalev won the first fight though, but it really was a close fight, reflected on the cards. There’s not really any other fights that Ward even come close to losing anyway.
Even cards on Floyd fights were generally about right. The first Castillo fight was debatable but aside from that, I wouldn’t say scorecards on Floyd fights were that bad. Even his close fights with the likes of Maidana were reflected on the cards.
Canelo takes the cake I think. Starting when one judge give him a draw v Mayweather. The first GGG fight was criminal.
What fights of Ward's have you watched, serious question? I've watched quite a few, in preparation for the Kov first fight. Imo he was getting some 11-1 cards in 7-5 or 6-6 fights. For all 3 judges to have Ward winning fight 1 with Kov, 7-5, is pretty insane. Probably the worst decision in a big fight I've ever seen live. But Ward's favorable cards are outside of that 1 fight.
I feel like Floyd got some similar cards. His cards vs McGregor were really bad actually. People can say whatever they want, but Floyd didn't even throw a punch until round 4. It would be like trying to give Loma 2 of the first six rounds or something vs Lopez. It would be nuts.
I had Floyd beating JLC 7-5 or maybe it was a draw. Never have been able to find good footage of the first Maidana fight. I agree though that of the fights I've seen, the right man has won Floyd's fights.
I watched all the fights when they happened.
Marquez should be 4-0 against Pacquiao. 3-0-1 at WORST.
marquez scared for the 5th fight.. let's be honest he didn't win 2 fights in their series.
Also Pacquiao three times against Marquez.
you must be watching a virtual boxing fight.
no way he could've won the 1st fight. your boy got drop 3-4 times.
don't be delusional it doesn't make you cool.
