5 years ago he wouldve been number 1 at Welter. However something happened to Thurman in the last 3 years. Injury, really long layoffs between fights took away his prime and he just isnt the same fighter that I thought would take over welter after Pac Floyd era. He seems to have lost his killer instinct and hunger which is unfortunate because he was ‘that guy who got next’ who everyone was ducking at a certain point.
Keith is a tougher match for both Spence and Crawford right now than any other WW not named Pacquiao.
Just cause he lost to Pacquiao doesn’t diminish his ability. PAC’s C game is just still better than the current welters.
Idk that thurman could take Spence at any point. He was in trouble against porter and garcia, I did think people didnt give him enough credit for the pac fight. He was hurt, dropped, busted up and he still went AFTER pac trying to win the fight.
For a guy who has been relatively fragile in and outside the ring he fought his ass off trying to beat pac
spence would always beat thurman prob by knockout. thurman is a better version of khan with a better chin(OBV) but spence is too consistent and would break him down with consistent shots. crawford would prob do the same.

He beats Crawford, not Thurman. Crawford is easy to hit.
didn't he just challenge Crawford to a fight? didn't Crawford fight washed up Brook instead? and no Thurman did not ask for 10 million.....kinda like Crawford making noise about fighting Porter until Porter said ok.....then suddenly "now is not the time" Porter just called him out on the Spence/Garcia PPV. Watch Crawford wiggle out....again.

...he had a "killer instinct" against who?
He literally was almost KTFO by journeyman Josesito Lopez in 2015.
Thurman has had an extraordinary career for someone whose done nothing but beat average competition and avoided the Spence and Crawford of the world
Not really, one time became sometime when he stepped it up. That’s why his KO ratio went downwards. And doesn’t matter which Keef we are talking about but he just cannot take a good bodyshot nor does he have a good poker face when he his hurt after taking one. Those TWO boxers would beat Keef from 2016 till now.
Keith has learned a lot since then and is a much better fighter, he actually has a much better chance at beating them now then he had years ago.
He’d come up short regardless though.

Yes Onetime Thurman was definitely something. I even have a friend who even thinks Mayweather ducked him back then, not sure if I agree or not.
The Thurman we have today is definitely not Onetime anymore. :(

He earned his money and lost his drive and hunger.
He wasn't the first and won't be the last.
Even now i favor thurman over spence or crawford and thurman is a much more battle tested fighter.
Same. He's the same fighter years ago and I could argue, he's even better.
He threw almost one thousand punches against Lopez and even got a knockdown. He lost only two bad rounds in that fight. He trained at LA fitness for that fight with a 22 month layoff.
Thurman actually did better against a mobile Pacman than he did against flatfooted Danny.
Total punch stats showed Thurman threw 571 punches against Pac and landed 210 of them. Thurman threw 570 punches against Danny and only landed 147.
Thurman's accuracy has improved tremendously especially considering Pac's head movement and footwork which he had to take into account when landing his punches.
Spence didn`t look great in last 4 rounds against Danny either.
Spence -Thurman can be interesting if Thurman comes in good shape.
Garcia isn’t a 40 year old WW.
I see what OP says. Years ago Thurman beat Porter much better than Spence did before accident.
Prime Thurman would be very tough for Spence and Crawford.
No. Porter was hurting Thurman and backing him up a lot and the fight could have gone either way. Against Spence , Porter clearly lost the last 3 rounds(plus the knockdown). As I have explained, for Porter to have been “robbed” , you would need a scorecard of him up 7-2 or 8-1 heading into the 10th. Anything else is impossible mathematically since he lost the last 3 WITH a knockdown. So no, he wasn’t robbed.
Thurman just list to a 40 year old that faded in the 2nd half of the fight. I have to keep reminding all of you that. And let’s not forget he was out on his feet against Lopez.

Or he's been in one too many wars along with injuries and inactivity, he's past his best.
Thurman isn't past his best he is still the same fighter and he has more experience now and probably more better than 5 years ago.
