Mike Tyson in his post fight interview said the more belts the better because belts are what makes the money, this guys a champion and this other guy a champion and everyone gets to make money.
Do you think the fighters all think this way? since its rare you see a fighter turn down a belt unless its for persoanl vandetta reasons.
Didn't he and Roy both get a new WBC Old participation Champion the world belt for their open title fight draw? I don't think RJJ landed four punches, never mind win four rounds. I had it 8-0 Tyson. Roy's hugging and running game was pretty good for a guy who's knee is clearly gone. I think we need to get rid of Franchise, Super, regular and interim. Reasons - Franchise is utterly stupid. No more needs to be said. Super - Why? A champion is a champion. All super does is create another champion within the same organisation, which actually discredits the current champion, making his new Super title look rather silly. Regular champion - Means you ain't the real champ. You the number 1 beneath the champ, but not the champ. Interim - If the champion is out injured to long to defend his belt, take his belt away on the condition he fights for it when he returns, and the next two inline fight for the vacent. Nobody cares about interim. Derry's Matthews was an interim champion of the world ffs.
Too many sanctioning bodies. All of these belts help make sanctioning bodies rich with their sanctioning fees. Look how each body ranks their fighters, some are not even close to resembling others. It’s insane.
To some extent I do agree. I don't like just one belt. It gives too much power to an organisation if it's corrupt. With four belts there's room for different fighters to establishment themselves when the marquee fighter in a division wants to duck them.
terrible idea, the sport already is suffering with noone having a clue who the top dog in the division is & who is ducking who, if there is a top dog then u have to beat them to be that top dog, simple
boxing needs cold hard certainty, not fantasy matchups and eye tests
Dubois, you're a quitter.
You better look in the mirror at your damaged eye and know that all you'll ever be good for in boxing is either knocking someone out or quitting...
It wouldn’t be a problem if the best champs would have unifications but it rarely happens
That’s the real problem, the fighters unwilling to fight each other.
