Joyce is old and nearly done, and no top HW's are gonna be keen on fighting him any time soon.
DDD is young, looks the part and could've gone on to have some massive fights against the likes of Fury/AJ or any of the upcoming HWs like Yoka & Hrgovic
Was the Joyce win bad for boxing?
What makes for a better division? Greater competitiveness throughout or a top dog head and shoulders above the rest? Because if you ask me the current scene has a healthy mix of the two...
Yeah but you’re missing the 3rd factor .. talent
A division can be competitive with B grade fighters. Welterweight is a decent example, minus Manny
Completely different to a competitive division full of A grade fighters, like the Welterweight of a few years ago
Heavyweight now is full of B grades, with Tyson Fury sitting atop as the only genuine talent in the division
Joyce does't rely on reflexes. He is big strong dude that has a high output and pressure. Only if his chin starts giving away will be his main downfall.

Better fighters. Tyson Fury is the only elite HW in this era.
The 90’s had Lewis, Holyfield, Tyson, Bowe, Moorer etc. Even guys like Briggs and Tua would blow through most of these current guys.
This era is a fun era, we’ve had some great fights like Fury-Wilder 1 and AJ-Wlad, but in terms of quality it’s a pretty weak era.
Fury, AJ and Wilder probably have what 5 years left in their careers max. Who’s coming through after them? There’s nobody.
The HW division is bad now but it’s going to be awful in 5-10 years. I’m really hoping Tokyo 2020 produces a quality HW prospect.

A few comeback wins, and this fight will be forgotten about for Dubois.
He was not massively outclassed, and it was a competitive fight.
His injury could of been worst if he had carried on etc
I would say Dubois has decent potential, he is not a certain future world champion 'But he can for sure, comeback again'.
Kid will be fine, he just shouldn`t be rushed, he should fight some guys like Ustinov, Rudenko, Wach..
It’s good he takes a loss now at this stage, he knows what he has to do to improve and he has real world experience.
Same thing happened to David Haye early in, he got beat senseless by Carl Thompson, Haye went on to be more or less untouchable at cruiser and was a top heavy.
Dubois would’ve probably got beat before he reached the top level anyway. Someone else would’ve probably done it if Joyce didn’t.
Never been convinced by Dubois and picked Joyce to beat him.
I thought Dubois did alright, all things considered, i don't think he disgraced himself with that performance.
Joyce just happens to be a beast, those rights hands DDD landed on him would've KO'd a lot of guys.
I think DDD can still win a world title providing his eye isn't permanently fooked.I feel for him as that was painful.
I hope he comes back as I genuinely like Dubois. Strikes me as humble, professional and brings excitement to boxing .

Maybe from a fans standpoint but the best rise. Joyce probably won't get to fight AJ or Fury, and if he did, he would get beaten soundly. BUT the WBO could be vacated, seems likely now but I think its interesting fighting Usyk. So much has changed since the WBSS. Its also likely he fights guys like Povetkin, Whyte and so on.
Kid will be fine, he just shouldn`t be rushed, he should fight some guys like Ustinov, Rudenko, Wach..Daniel Dubois reminded me of Mike Tyson a bit in the way he fights. Iam still quite surprised that he lost to be honest. Unlike Mike Tyson from what Ive read Dubois is committed to the fight game eg no drugs which Mike Tyson was doing when even when Cus D' Amato was still about .

I reckon Joyce could carry on fighting the way he does now well into his 40s, if he wants to. For me, he epitomizes the reasons why HWs mature later and have longer primes than the lighter weights.
Strength, power, durability, stamina, ring IQ, are the last attributes a fighter loses as he ages, and the exact same attributes that make The Juggernaut so difficult to beat.
Dubois eye is never going to be the same
Once u get that socket break. It’ll always be vulnerable.
Kell brook. Margarito etc
Just stick a titanium plate in there............. Kell Brook is like Robocop right now, unbreakable orbital bones.

Was the Joyce win bad for boxing?no it is not bad for boxing. He is a good exciting boxer and a good man. Boxing fans can enjoy him while he is here. It would be better if he was 23 but he isn't. If he retires soon due to age other good fighters will replace him. DDD was overrated in my opinion and i think Joyce exposed him as a front runner and a bragger who lacks the determination and slill to back up his bragging. Good for Joyce.if DDD had won he still would have been defeated soon enough. He just is not anything special.
