Looks like Deontay Wilder has succeeded in talking himself out of a trilogy fight with the Gypsy King.
Fury saying here that he could sue Wilder for defamation, but he's not interested in doing that. He's moving on, Wilder is done and will never get another shot at the WBC title, after the things he's said.
Thats right you fraud, prove us right. You cant beat the champ in a fair-one so you got to find reasons to avoid the 'Bronze-Bomber' Deontay Wilder. RUN TYSON, RUN!!!
He did though.....
wilder got what he wanted. he never wanted another fight but wanted fans to think fury was in the wrong, if he truly wanted a rematch he wouldn't have gone into hiding for 6 months then come out soon as the clause expires.
wilder went out like a biatch, his career is over.
I'm pretty sure we have different laws per regions. I'd be surprised if NYC has the same as FLA let alone FLA and UK.
That said, I was just making a joke really, but, here you do need to prove they knowingly and actively lied to damage. You have to prove they knew they were lying and only did it to hurt the other party. Here being Florida.
Don't know about anywhere else, but in the UK, intent to defame has to be established. That probably applies in the US too, because both countries use English Common Law as the basis of their judicial systems.
If he was sued by Fury, Wilder could always use the "No intent to defame, just trash talking to sell a fight" defence.
Like i just noted in another thread on the same topic, pro fighters often accuse each other if cheating, PED abuse, paying off judges, etc, and it hardly ever gets taken seriously enough for lawyers to be brought in.
I can only recall that happening twice, and one of those cases did involve Wilder, funnily enough. He was counter sued for defamation by Povetkin over PED abuse accusations made during the fall out from their aborted fight. The other case I know about was Manny vs Floyd, but there may have been others.
Fury doesn’t owe Wilder anything at this point.
But all this talk by Fury only matters if he keeps winning ... and beats Joshua.
Regardless, I still expect they’ll fight again ... but Wilder prolly has to put some wins together before it happens.

Yeah but if someone called him a daft prick, he'd struggle to prove them wrong wouldn't he?
That video of him talking to a bunch of black kids about his hairy legs that go blond in the sun would be hard to explain in any other way than .. "yeah, I am a daft prick, sorry folks"
:lol1:
The thing is with all this talk here it isn't even Fury that turned the 3rd fight down. It was delayed twice due to Covid but Fury all set for the December date and it was Finkel who cancelled. It was TEAM WILDER who cancelled on team Fury.
I know they likely just wanted to wait Covid out so when it did happen it generated more money but Fury wanted to get back in the ring and wasn't prepared to wait any longer. He was willing to face Wilder in an empty stadium in December and Finkel said no.
Y'all must have different defame laws. If this was true our current President would make all his money in law suits.

F*** Wilder, he behaved like a straight b!tch since he lost. Every sorry excuse in the book and accusing Fury of cheating. Wilder deserves nothing. Bring on Fury vs AJ.
and if the WBC makes Wilder the mandatory for the WBC strap??? Not sure Fury would have a choice in the matter.
2 things for sure ...
1. Wilder won't become WBC mando for at least another year, by which time Fury will have either lost the title to AJ or become the undisputed champ.
2. Fury values his lineal status far more than any belt. If the WBC, or any of the other alphabet boys, order him to fight somebody he doesn't want to fight, he will ditch their belt without a second thought.
i've always wanted to see III so this is a bit disappointing but money talks & this could change in the future
fury joshua is the fight to be made now, wilder messed up & the comedy saga will have to wait
Tyson Fury is number 1 in the world, but deep down? You know he is held to a lower standard than Anthony Joshua.
Both Wilder & Fury where held to low standards.
That's nonsense.
Fury drew with Wilder in the first fight - which almost everybody thinks he should have won - and crushed Deontay decisively in the rematch.
AJ was crushed by Ruiz in their first fight, and won by UD in the rematch.
If Fury is held to a lower standard than AJ, then why does he owe Wilder a 3rd fight, while AJ doesn't owe Andy anything? Makes no sense.
They are going to fight next year, the saga is not over.
Tyson Fury will most likely win, but I know for sure? That people want to see this 3rd fight play out 'Until the end' so there can be zero excuses.
Wilder getting dominated, decked multiple times, and stopped inside the distance after losing every round was a pretty definitive end to "the saga"
The only reason anybody was even thinking about a 3rd fight was because Wilder had a rematch clause. The rematch clause has expired and there are bigger, better fights out there for Fury. The Fury/Wilder saga is history, time to move on.
PRINCEKOOL is still devastated that Tyson Fury is the number 1 HW in the world.

yep
PRINCEKOOL won't say anything though about Wilder's abysmal title defenses/resume

This succession of title 'defences', which was incredibly defended by some members of this very forum is the lowest standard I have seen in a recent heavyweight champion:
Not to forget:
41st Tyson Fury - artificially thrown back into rankings after 3 years single handedly supporting the Colombian economy.
42nd - Dominic Breazeale, much hyped by Haymon and Showtime on the basis of ???? Wtf knows? Other than he was in the same stable and could be relied to walk on to a right hand
43rd - A finally fit and in shape Tyson Fury. The first time Wilder defends against a prime, physically ready top 5 ranked opponent
