He became a full-pledged PBC fighter after the Wilder 1 fight. It's evident that Haymon promised him the moon and the stars. He declined offers from Whyte, then Joshua. Whyte offered him bigger money than his undercard fight at PBC. Ortiz turned it down and wanted "silly money" according to Whyte. Haymon made him a showcase fighter in-between Wilder fights.
