It is more interesting to me but I think either K brother in their prime could KO any current heavyweight including Fury. I know Fury beat Wlad but that was a prime 27 year old Fury against a Wlad a month or two away from turning 40 years old and not prime against prime. For years the K brothers dominated heavyweight and nobody came close to beating them and Wlad had a boring style even when he ended most fights with a KO win. Fury dominates today but he still seems more beatable than the brothers were for a few years. Wilder almost knocked him out and AJ has a chance to knock him out although Fury will be the betting favorite.
Yes the Kiltschko's put distance between themselves, and their competition 'Distance as in ability and performance' and they faced everyone.
In this current era, nobody has created that kind of distance at the top of the rankings 'Not even Tyson Fury' by no means is he formidable.
You just never know with Tyson Fury, he could struggle in his next fight.

The first two Peter v klit fights were fine, the last one was awful he beat gabe brown and nagy Aguilera to earn that shot
I'm not saying all klitschko fights were bad but there were so many stinkers.
Well yes there were a few. And I thought Peter was well overdone even at 30, in that 2nd Wladimir fight. He had nothing at any time except his left jab and right, mostly rabbit punching. No IQ. I recall writing when he came on the scene as this ferocious KO artist with a massive punch, that he's fought only cripples and 4th rate palookas, that they would be helped into the ring and leaned against the ropes to keep them upright until the bell rang and Peter would KO them.
I was just pointing out that he was not 40, but my sense of humour, as usual, got the better of me.
Weirdly no, I’ve become so frustrated with this era as there’s a too much politicking and talking but not enough fighting. At least we got Fury vs Wilder twice, but AJ is still yet to fight either.
Ruiz, Hunter, Whyte, Hrgovic and others are "names" just because American and British promotors are better in hyping opponents than K2 promotions.
Since Klitschko retired, all heavyweights are hyped to be some "stars". even more if they are prepared to fight AJ or Fury.
I shake my head at people saying this is the worst era because seriously, look at this list
Fury
Joshua
Wilder
Usyk
Parker
Dubois
Yoka
Hrgovic
Hunter
Ruiz jr
Fury and AJ I can understand, but Wilder was outclassed by Fury and hasn't beaten anyone of note really.
Usyk and Hunter are former Cruiserweights and have not done anything at HW yet.
Hrgovic, Yoka and Dubois are only prospects.
Ruiz and Parker weren't really rated until they got the Hearn promotion behind them to hype them up for AJ.
Whyte was considered a contender and he got knocked out by an old, well past prime Povetkin who is a relic of the Klitschko era.
I think this era is certainly more entertaining but you can't make the case it is 'better' than the Klitschko era, especially seeing what an old Klitschko was still capable of.
Those names are only names because HW has the spotlight on it once again with marketable stars, most notably AJ and Fury. When all is said and done they haven't really done anything other than fight one another and trade wins and losses. Ruiz being an exception as he beat AJ but was then outclassed in their rematch.
Realistically we have AJ and Fury at the top, those other 'names' don't really mean anything beyond what we subjectivly attribute to them. There were prospect in the Klitscho era as well, why don't we talk about them anymore?
A more competitive era to be sure, and more entertaining. But not 'better' by any provable metric.
Yes
In the klitschko era we had years and years where the best contenders were guys like Chris Areolla, Sam Peter, Chagaev etc.
They were all short plodders, basic, it was just awful, the best challenger of that 10 years was David Haye who was truly a cruiserweight.

Like, come on that's a list of 10 damn good names there you have seasoned champions and a bunch of great prospects, and I didn't mention any past prime veterans who are still useful on that list.
Back in the klitschko era we were begging for guys like the above to come along, when Wlad was fighting a 40 year old Sam Peter again because he was the best option.
I mean people hyped Areolla and Eddie Chambers as the best possible prospects, a budget sandy Ruiz and Michael hunter were the number one prospects
Hickey you always used to be such a good realistic meticulous poster..What's happened to you over the years that I wasn't posting. ...Brought yourself down low to the level of most of the others it seems. The Peter-W. Klitschko fight 1, was fought when Peter was 25. The Peter-Vit. Klitschko fight was when Peter was 28, and the Peter W .Klitschko 2 was when Peter was 30, and the #1 contender.
Absolutely, looking back this will talked about as the silver era of the heavyweights!
You got so many different quality of styles and good
Match ups that have yet to be made!
Look at these match ups that could happen...
Fury vs Joshua
Wilder vs Ruiz Jr
Ortiz vs Parker
Hrgovic vs Yoka
Hunter vs Dubois/Joyce winner
Povetkin/Whyte 2 winner vs Usyk/Chisora winner
The Lamon Brewster era is very underrated. The Brewster that beat Wladimir the first time and knocked Golota out was something else and I enjoyed those fights very much.
This era isn’t great but Fury has all the ability to become great. He just needs to get back in that ring with any of the top guys. Another beat down of Wilder would be nice.
And Brewster-Liakhovich was such an invisible classic.
Damn that was 1 of the top 5 heavyweight fights of the millennium

It's far from technically the best but it's very competitive and entertaining. No real domination. I always thought Wilder had a decent chance to beat Joshua and become undisputed but I give joshua a decent chance to beat Fury. Styles make fights.
It is a very competitive era.
The Kiltschko's had some distance between themselves, and other competitors 'They had a aura of invincibility' they created their own empire.
Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder all seem beatable.
I probably still enjoyed the Kiltschko era a tad more, only because I was a keen supporter of David Haye 'Good times'.
