That was a CLOSE fight, period. Neither guy was landing much of anything in the first few rounds. BOTH guys were hesitant... Lopez was just slightly less hesitant...
Lopez is acting like he's the second coming of Manny Pacquiao! LOL
Lopez was acting gun shy HIMSELF with a guy he was clearly bigger and stronger than!!!
Lopez is acting like he DOMINATED lomachenko...Lopez NEVER (i repeat NEVER) landed a big, dramatic combination on Lomachenko... You know, the sort of combinations a prime Manny Pacquiao would be throwing THROUGHOUT a fight without FEAR. The only one landing the big combinations was Lomachenko when he finally realized he needed to turn it up.
Lopez was landing on Lomachenko the way Canelo was landing on Erislandy Lara... Another close fight with BS scorecards.
Lopez needs to shut up all his doubters and come in strong in the rematch. Lomachenko will obviously need to start fast. The rematch will be guaranteed to be fireworks because now Loma knows he can't trust the judges at all... Which might lead to him getting KO'd but at least we'll have ourselves a real fight.
Lopez dont need to do sheeit. He out smarted, out timed, over powered & beat up a great fighter.
If he does choose to fight Loma again. He WILL knock him out or beat him up worse. Loma isnt getting better but Lopez will improve over the next 5 years.
When Lomachenko finally decided to finish "downloading" info on Lopez, he actually did great. Too bad for him he got mollywhopped on the 12th.
The two most important rounds of that fight were the 11th and 12th.
Loma clearly won the 11th and even backed up and hurt Lopez.
Lopez won the 12th but I JUST re-watched it and he certainly didn't dominate Loma. Watch it again... It was a pretty consistent back and forth the entire round.
Lopez caught Loma with a really big left uppercut/hook and shook Loma a little but it didn't stagger Loma and he still came back to fight....I.E. he was able to take a very big power punch from Lopez in the LAST round and still come back strong.
I actually think if Lomachenko fights mean and takes it to Loma from round 1 in the rematch he'll get the better of Lopez in these fiery exchanges...
Loma has the better combinations, the better stamina
I swear the only thing Lopez had was his counter right upper cut and his lead left hook and the occasional 1,2 or body punch... Loma has a much more diverse and tricky arsenal...
When Loma and Lopez started to get in those heated exchanges I think Loma's superior pedigree started to show...
People are already drinking their own kool-aid on Lopez with the "He's just too big, he'll just KO Loma in a rematch, so what's the point".... When, IN REALITY, Lopez was hurt by Lomachenko (the smaller guy) in this fight...
Everyone thought the key victory for Lomachenko was to box smart and dismantle Lopez while the key to victory for Lopez was to bring the fight to Loma.... We can see now it's literally the reverse LOL.... Lopez is quick and athletic enough to neutralize Lomachenko's ability to score and outpoint him.... But Lopez might NOT be skilled enough to win in an all out war! Who would of thought....
Truth be told, I saw it 7-5 for Lopez or a draw. Lomachenko beat himself. Lopez did great in the first half. He boxed well, didn't allow Loma to mount an offensive string together, and was very sharp and poised.

Lopez is a big boy. He did his part, challenged himself, and came out victorious. I am happy for him. Whether he give Loma a rematch or not I could careless, Loma did it to himself at this point.
I'm surprised nobody even mentioned that Lopez was clearly hurt in the 11th rd and was holding Loma.
I bet in th rematch Loma would fight differently and risk a lot more. However they not gonna fight again as Lopez moves up
It's crazy. Everyone is pretending like every rd loma won is a swing rd and teo was never hurt.
There's nothing that he landed on loma or showed in the fight that he can stop him. If anything, loma showed he can stop teo. In the 11th rd teo was visibly hurt against the ropes. You can't even get a decent highlight of teo landing clean shots on loma.

The only doubt are Loma fans doubting they saw their man outboxed. Teo will stop Loma in the second fight. The only thing Loma can do in the second fight is start earlier. He starts earlier and he's getting stopped.

If Loma fights like he did in round 8-11, he stands a good chance of getting KO'd.... But Lopez didn't impress me that much... He was able to neutralize Lomachenko's usual high punch output... But he wasn't able to land a lot on Lomachenko either. I also saw some stamina issues in the later rounds with Lopez when he was getting peppered by Loma... The question is... Can lomachenko keep up that pace from round 1 in the rematch without getting knocked out in the process?
Darius, I believe what lost lomachenko the fight was his dad and strategy. You can see in the 6th rd he kept telling Loma to be patient. The gameplan from the start should have been to take it to teo from the opening bell on the inside.
Everytime loma got close to teo, teo couldn't do much because he needs distance to extend his shots. When loma closed the gap, he was landing. If they came out with a strategy from rd 1 to push lopez back that would have surprised and fatigued lopez. I believe loma would win with that strategy.
If he wants to do it fine, but Lopez might be moving up. He looks big at the weight and would struggle moving forward. And if Loma beats him then the excuse would be of the weight.
Rematch is optional for Lopez, he can move on to bigger paydays with a Tank Davis compared to Arum and Top Rank trying to Low Ball him again
So he is in control now and he doesn't owe anybody anything
It was not a close fight. Lopez gave that Euro Bum a boxing lesson.
Loma is so overrated it’s not even funny.
Yep. He fought like a *****. He was afraid.
Nah... I feel Loma gets stopped if he start pressing Lopez from round 1. I think Loma needs to go down in weight and get a belt there. I am sure he would love to try to avenge his loss, but he fought scared to be honest. If they rematch, I put money on Lopez for the KO.
