Round 12 last night...

Did anyone else think that Loma was actually in danger of getting dropped in the 12th last night? I was starting to think it might happen. Loma knew he had to make up ground so he started taking risks and it looked to me like Lopez was close to dropping him Absolutely. There are some posters here who actually think that was a close round and scored it for Lomachenko. I don't know what they were watching, Teofimo was hurting him repeatedly and it did look like a knockdown was close.

Lopez caught him with a left hook near the end of the rd. Lomachenko was buzzed, but he wasn’t close to going down, let alone be stopped. Some of you getting too caught up because one guy was muscling the other. Lomachenko started far too late, let Lopez still have strength that late in the fight. 12th was a good even round to be honest. Don’t see how Lopez dominated it or put a beating on Lomachenko while he was eating conbo’s and getting his head snapped back too in those 3 mins. Lopez had that bodyshot and left hook though.

He got absolutely battered in round 12. With more experience Lopez could have stopped him late.

This thread has it right. During the eleventh and twelfth round, Loma had to come hard... That meant he had to trade with Lopez. Lopez was told to "box" and did so during the eleventh. His heart was not in it... and you could see he objected vehemently to sticking and moving and getting hit in the face by Loma... he was never in any danger of getting damaged, Loma could not set on his shots... Anyway I think Lopez said "fvk it" and thats when the twelfth round happened. He did not listen to his corner and when Loma came in he almost dropped Loma. In a rematch Loma is dropped.

that's what all these diehard Loma fans can't admit to, if Loma fought like he did in the later rounds, chances are that he would've been KO'd. Loma does not have the power to bother bigger guys, Lopez can match him and hurt him bad if Loma opens up in the potential rematch. he knew that and anyone with a brain knew that going in. We all said that if he goes out there to trade early, he's going to sleep. Loma is no fool. Only his fanbase is.

Oh yeah I think he could have been dropped in the last round. He was obviously going for broke. And Lopez was having a lot of successes. But I don’t think there was a lot of time left for Lopez to actually stop him doe.

that intentional headbutt saved him. Loma was hurt badly and in danger of getting stopped or going down and then he headbutt's Lopez. This is the same guy before the Rigondeaux fight that asked the ref if he can put his head in Rigo's chest and pull his arms back. No, that's a headbutt. You cannot use your head for anything in a boxing match. That was no accident. He was ready to check out

If it wasn’t for the cut and the time-out, it might’ve happened. I was rooting for Loma, so I was cringing.

He almost went night night, but that cut saved him.
