Lomas game plan was to let Lopez punch himself out and finish the fight late. They tried to rope a dope but couldn't finish the fight when it counted. Outboxed? No. That was definitely part of the gameplan evident by what came out of Lomachenkos corner. When Lomachenko chose to box he won the rounds far wider than Teo did. Many of the rounds he was was due to Lomas inactivity. That jab you're talking about disappeared real quick down the line. Rounds 8-11 Loma was landing at will is a testament to this fact. he won a decision in boxing by using the criterias of boxing. no fouling or dirty tactics. he outboxed Loma. fact. He also had cards going for him because politics always push for the local fighter and/or the hyped young fighter, this reminds me of Oscar vs Pernell. It's OK to beat a much bigger puncher when the puncher can't box (see Fury vs Wilder) but Teo can box, hard fight for Loma. So Loma had to take solid risks of losing by KO in order to beat Teo, he didn't and prefered to go to a decision. That's a choice, he just lost a 5-7 rounds close decision (despite what the **** cards say), not the end of the world. Loma has been a slow starter and getting lit up early in most of his 135 fights, time to think abou his style or moving down to 130.

His boxing skills, sharpness and IQ were much better than Loma anticipated. There was an interview with Loma saying he saw everything he needed to in the first round of Lopez v Commey. Even before the fight I felt that was a very bad mindset.
