seeing as the Fury rematch is dead in the water....
He probably won't fight until 2021 with his therapy/surgery...... I think he needs to beat 2 good ranked guys and then probably gets a shot at the winner of AJ/Fury
Wilder prided himself greatly on being world champion. There is a trend these days in boxing? Where fighters tend to devalue belts 'Deontay Wilder was not one of those fighters'.
I don't think Wilder, will be motivated to take a fight which involves zero titles. I think Deontay Wilder's next fight will ether be against Tyson Fury, or the winner of Alexandra Povetkin vs Dillian Whyte 'For the interim WBC title'.
Honestly despite how he lost to Fury I'd still pick him against most other heavyweights because other heavyweights don't have what's necessary (ie. height, reach, footwork) to duplicate what Fury did. I'm not saying that's the only way to beat him but any other strategy that isn't working from outside of Wilder's range is going to constantly be working against the risk of getting blown up by his right hand.
This is true! Can't WAIT to watch him fight Chisora.
I'm super excited for the next couple of months with some GREAT fights starting tomorrow then the Davis/LSC fight.
Still a lil disappointed we didn't get Wilder/Fury 3. Call me thick headed but I still think Wilder could beat Fury.
Yea I'm excited for the Chisora fight, and I always love watching Lomachenko work, and the LSC fight should be great.
Wilder should be still around, let Fury get some activity in, we can always revisit the trilogy - if Wilder goes on a tear the hype is that much bigger!
Wlad was like 28 when he first started with Manny
and lets be real....Wlad is/was a much more disciplined fighter than Wilder
Wlad was KO’d by Lamon Brewster and Corey Saunders in his prime. Let’s not act like that never happened.
Can't teach an old dog new tricks and just cause he has a huge right hand doesn't mean his left would be. The punch mechanics are totally different.
With that said someone like Ruiz or Parker
Wilder has matured so he should have discipline also wilder isn’t a regular 35 year old he’s in amazing shape and he’s really athletic those two attributes go a long way at 35.
Wilder is too dumb to learn.
Honestly think he's up as one of dumbest champions in boxing ever.
He could fight any top 10 guy and I'd be happy with that but he'll probably need to knock out some nobodies to regain his confidence. Another loss wouldn't look good for him.

It’s not magic it just takes a proper trainer and a certain amount of hours of work. If he gets with a proper team he can very well adjust his style wlad did it with Emmanuel.
And apparently a lighter costume? :pat:

dude's 35 years old and has a huge ego.....he's not going to able to just magically learn a good left

And what fantasy land do you live in? Did wilders power just evaporate 🤔
